Before Christmas I had the privilege to pop down to The Cod’s Scallops in Carrington to check them out and learn all about their eateries before the 2020 Fish n Chip Awards that are this month! The Cod’s Scallops are an amazing local chain of fish and chip shops created by John Molnar, who used his 30 years of chef and business experience to get onboard a skilled crew, source the finest produce and set sail a fish and chip concept like no other. It really is unlike any other chippy I’ve ever been to!

They have three locations in total and two are nominated in these awesome awards this year. The restaurant that I visited is up for ‘Top Fish and Chip Restaurant’ and is the only restaurant that’s nominated that isn’t near the sea – that’s saying something for the freshness of their fish! Their Wollaton branch is nominated in the takeaway category too.

As well as their delicious beef-dripping fried chips and amazing selection of fish you can indulge in homemade pies, amazing side dishes, lobster and Prosecco – the possibilities are endless and the restaurant atmosphere is so cute and friendly.
What’s your chippy tea order? We love fish. chips and mushy peas but sometimes I am tempted towards a pie! Have you visited The Cod’s Scallops if you live in Nottingham? Let me know in the comments.
