September Money Diary

There’s the end of the ‘pay’ month & a pay day mid week for this money diary! I’ll get straight into it, it’s a pretty normal week.

Sunday – £11.65

It’s the last of the good weather this weekend so we take a super long walk to Newstead Abbey which takes us most of the day. We left around 10am and got home at around 4pm with about 25,000 steps in between. We spent £11.30 on our lunch, paid on our joint ‘house’ account, L paid £6 for two absolutely massive ice creams and then £6 for some beers at a pub half way home on our walk. This £12 goes onto our little budgeting app and I’ll pay for something in the future to even things out. We’re lucky that there are a few pubs 10 and 30mins walk away so it’s perfect for sunny walks with little stop offs.

Time for a bath and some food prep for the week before we have dinner from a little wood fired pizza van that visits near where we live every few weeks. £22 for pizzas, a garlic bread and a tiramisu which was a total let down. Pizzas were lovely but it’s a good idea to stick to these as the desserts were definitely not worth the money. L gets this which is a cute treat.

Monday – £0

Spent a total of £0 today as I had salad, tuna and jacket potato for my lunch that I’d prepped and didn’t need to pick anything up on my lunch. Our Hello Fresh order arrives for the week, we paid for this last week. A Skin & Me order from last week arrived for me too. This is a new nightly treatment that’s prescribed for me by their dermatologists and it’s only £19.99 a month with your first month free. I had the free trial where you pay £3.50 for the postage last month and I’ve seen such good results for my skin I didn’t cancel my subscription.

Sell a dress on eBay today for a grand total of a depressing £5.14 after PayPal fees! Can be sent as a large letter £1.40 so £3.74 made but I just pay off some eBay fees with this and write it off!

Tuesday – £9.27

Payday today! Move all my money bits around add to my savings accounts for general and our house decoration plans. Pop to Wilko on my lunch and spend £8.27 on some storage bits as they have 25% off their plastic storage. Yes I have been watching The Home Edit.

Spend the evening looking at design ideas for our dining room and watching Bake Off. We did grab some Tunnock’s Teacakes from the shop to watch it with for £1 because you have to have something sweet for the Bake Off.

Wednesday – £5.75

I’ve been doing a ‘savings challenge’ in September where you save 20p each day and it goes up by 20p each day to get to £99.20 savings in the month. I’ve done it everyday and it seems a lot on some days, putting £3, £4 or £5 away each day! Pop to Wilko again to grab another £0.75 storage box as I missed one yesterday and post my dress I sold on eBay.

We head to M&S after work as we have some vouchers, one lot from doing surveys and some from a PR company as I’m doing a little story on Instagram for M&S at the end of the week. We pick up some dinner bits, the things I need for my Instagram story and some bargain reduced sourdough at £0.30 a loaf! Shop was around £27 but all on vouchers so free which is my favourite thing.

Nearly buy dress from H&M but remember I’m going to do my wardrobe switch at the weekend so shouldn’t be adding to my winter wardrobe before I remember what I have!

Send £5 for bootcamp to a local PT, Jess for tomorrow’s outdoor class.

Thursday – £9.93

Pop to Tesco – £9.93 on lunch for a little top up shop for milk, squash, a mango – the usual! It’s a super rainy evening at bootcamp tonight but it’s nice to work out and catch up with some of the girls there.

Friday £39.19

We’re having our neighbours over for dinner this evening so it’s a speed clean after work and I get our dinner prepped which is bruschetta and then a bacon and mushroom pasta with our food shop from M&S. Nothing spent today until my £5 Beautypie subscription goes out, then before bed I do a £34.19 Beautypie order with my cleanser I’m running out of, an eye cream, a body moisturiser and an eyeshadow stick that I love from these guys. I love certain products from Beautypie and I’ve been using their cleanser alongside the Skin & Me treatment and don’t want to switch things up in case I get a break out! If you sign up with my link you’ll get your first month’s subscription free.

Saturday – £25.75

Operation sort out garage today, we have loads of cardboard to take to the tip and it’s time to get the winter coats and jumpers out! I sort my wardrobe and get lots of bits ready to add to Depop and eBay soon. Shower time and I’m off out to get my eyebrows laminated with Yasmin – she is my eyebrow queen and I have a full loyalty card so save £5 on my treatment. £20

Get some presents ready for my brother and mum and remember to get him a card for when it’s actually his birthday from Thortful. See a cute Christine from Selling Sunset card for another friend’s birthday soon – spend £5.75 on cards as I find a discount code. Always search for a little online code when shopping online!

Total £101.54

I still think this is a lot for a week so I’m going to try and spend only £20-30, if that for the week coming. We’ve got loads to pay for with our house decorating soon and I want to try and kerb a bit of spending! We’re planning to go to the cinema and then I’ll have £5 for bootcamp but let’s see how this next week goes…
