Interiors: Master Bedroom Glow Up

Our little master bedroom change up is complete! I chipped away at this for weeks during the third lockdown and it seemed to take me forever. The before is the Rightmove pic of course, as you’ll recognise our lamps, prints and the bed from our old bedroom and the right hand image is how we’re living with it now. I’m really happy so far, there’s a few tweaks and additional decorative bits to do but I’m much happier with the colour and the feel now.

We wanted a calm and serene room with lots of soft furnishings and for it to feel cosy and relaxing. The purple and greys were too cold and I didn’t like them for a bedroom so I chose Overtly Olive for the panelling and Almond White (the same as in our bathrooms) from Dulux for the main walls. I wanted to contrast the green with a bit of copper so included some rust-coloured cushions from our old living room and some rose gold accents with photo frames.

I added some natural textures with our old living room rug (out of shot) and the Iconic Lights lampshade in wicker/rattan. I also added lots of soft furnishings including a big cosy knitted blanket and extra texture and interest to the back wall with our panelling which I absolutely love, I think it makes so much difference to the room.

We kept the original Roman blinds and replaced the Venetians (of course with Luna Blinds). On the opposite to the window wall we added a row of three prints of black and white images that we’ve taken in places where we have fun and lovely memories in Prague, Skegness & at Mam Tor. I bought the frames from Photo Frames & Art as it took me so long to find the right size and shape for the look I was going for. Let me know what you think of the changes!
