Dates
First, you need to consider the dates that you want to get married. It’s a good idea to have a couple of dates in mind that you’re happy to use so that this gives you a little bit of flexibility when it comes to the wedding venue. However, if there is a specific date that you know you want to use, then don’t settle for anything else.
What you don’t want to do is jump ahead and send out save the date cards until you’ve confirmed with a venue that they are able to host you that day. As soon as this is confirmed, you’re good to let everyone know.
Venues
Speaking of venues, this is another hugely important part of your day. If you already have a venue in mine, then we strongly recommend calling them, going to view it, and trying to lock it in as fast as you can as some venues book up a long time in advance.
If you don’t, you need to think about the kind of venues that you want, what you want from them and so on. For example, if having a dog friendly wedding venue is important to you, then this narrows down your search quite a lot.
Outfits
Something else to consider when it comes to your wedding is what you and your partner are going to wear. This could be suits, dresses, or both. Going shopping for a dress can be one of the funnest things to do as a bride. Get your friends together and visit some bridal shops, make an appointment first so they know what type of dresses you are interested in.
Honeymoon
Finally, where do you want to head for your honeymoon? This might be years into the future, however, you need to have a rough idea for your budget. If you are going to start saving now, then knowing how much to put away each month can really help you. If you are friends with any travel agents then speak to them about deals you might be able to get, mates rates are better than nothing at all. Speak with your partner about specific destinations that you might want to visit. Many people have tropical destinations on their lists, however, you might want to travel Route 66 or even visit Europe.
