For the past month or so I’ve been trialling the Drops Of Youth Range from The Body Shop in conjunction with trying to eat healthier specifically for my skin. Of course, there’s been some wobbles with my birthday and a few other celebrations but I’ve tried to be good. Here are my thoughts about the range, spoiler, I’ve been loving a few of them a lot!
Meet DNA Renewal Regeneration Serum, the step that I apply just after cleansing and toning and just before applying my facial oil or night cream during my evening skincare routine. It’s a little test-tube shaped product of goodness that’s been helping my skin renew and revitalise itself recently.
If you’re a beauty buff then chances are that you get your beauty habits from your Mumma! Treat her this Mother’s Day (6th March, in case you’ve forgotten!) with a lovely little beauty gift set.
Gift her with a little box of luxuries with this product-packed Nuxe Best-Sellers Gift Set which contains their iconic Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse®, Nuxe Reve de Miel® Lip Balm and the Nuxe Reve de Miel® Hand Cream 0ml – Hand and Nail Cream with Honey. Hand cream and lip balms are always something I like to have in my hand bag and are also things I see as little luxuries. It’s nice to have a more luxurious product to treat yourself with and these Nuxe treats are exactly that. The hand cream has 90% natural ingredients including avocado oil, acacia honey, vitamin E and shea butter.
If there’s one thing that I’m not keen on at this time of year it’s getting out of my nice warm shower and having to apply cold body moisturiser to my limbs! For the past few weeks, I’ve been trialling the Dr Do Good In-Shower Moisturising Spray and it’s well and truly changed the need for applying moisturiser after my shower and thus making myself chilly on these already cold February mornings! Win, win.
Stressing about a big date for Valentine’s Day? Don’t worry, here’s my last minute routine for relaxing and getting that perfect makeup look! Or, any of these gems could make amazing Valentine’s gifts for her.
When it comes to date night beauty, it has to be super pretty for me. This means glowing skin, a subtle smoky eye, a nude lip and tonnes of highlighter. So, how do I get ready for a big date night? First of all, it’s a relaxing bath where I’ll light a lovely smelling candle such as the Katie Loxton ‘Love’ Fig & Apple Blossom and maybe watch an episode of Grey’s Anatomy or some Lisa Eldridge makeup tutorials. I’ll use a body scrub such as the Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlily Body Polisher to get rid of any stubborn dry skin on knees or elbows. Moisturiser and a dab of Lancome Flash Bronzing Gel is next, especially if I’m wearing a dress or a skirt. I usually combine my self-tanner with a moisturiser for more of a glow than a full on tan, it’s a bit prettier and a lot more subtle.
A little beauty post for us all today! I’ve got a few products that I seem to be reaching for on rotation at the moment to get a base I’m really enjoying wearing. Kicking off with the Smashbox Photo Finish Pore-Minimizing Primer and the Benefit Stay Don’t Stay Eyeshadow & Concealer Primer as a base. I find that I always need a eye-corrector like this primer to get rid of any darkness, redness and discolouration. Even if I’m not wearing eyeshadow I’ll use this primer to smooth everything out.
This winter has totally wrecked my skin. From air con to freezing temperatures and some horrendous cystic acne plus all the sugar spots that Christmas bring us! These are my products that have kept me (almost) sane. I’ve also recently picked up the Sanctuary Therapist Secret Facial Oil in Boots and have used it for 2 nights and have seen an improvement already.
I was lucky enough to pick up the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K+ Daily Moisturiser from a beauty box we received at work, occasionally we get some pretty great freebies so I nabbed this as soon as we opened the box. I love La Roche-Posay as a brand and am a big fan of their Effaclar serum so I was excited to try this moisturiser version.
Obviously beauty gifts are something I love to find underneath the Christmas tree so here’s 5 of my top beauty gifts to give (and to put on your Christmas list!) this year.
Gifts such as the Selfridges Men’s AW Grooming Collection and Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar will always make the receiver smile. With lots of mini sample sizes of lots of things you’ll be guaranteed to find a product they really like in these gift sets. Both sets are worth over £200 and feature awesome brands such as Molton Brown, Clarins, Eve Lom and Tweezerman.
For the past few weeks I’ve been trialling a few of the sk:nclinics products for a range of different skin concerns and I’m ready to tell you what I think.
Some really effective products for oily and blemish-prone skin are the Vitamin-Rich Gel Cleanser for Oily Skin, the Anti-Blemish Control Serum and the Anti-Blemish Hydrator. The gel cleanser is a huge bottle – that’s value for money – this is going to last for ages. I’ve not been using this every time I wash my face as I didn’t want to strip my skin too much but I don’t actually think it’s drying or stripping in the least after using it a few times a week for the past month or so. I use this when I’m having a definite flare up! Complimentary products are the Control Serum, this is more of an on-the-spot treatment and the Hydrator is a really light gel texture that I love in a moisturiser.
