This is a product I’ve wanted for ages and ages and when I received a John Lewis voucher for my graduation I knew exactly what was going to end up in my make-up bag. Now, this isn’t a new product and I’m sure everyone and their beauty blogger has tried it but I really like it and I’ve wanted to add it to my collection for a while now. I was going to buy the shade Medium, but the girl on the counter recommended the Golden Light instead and I think she’s right, it suits me better than the red tones of the Medium shade. This gives a really natural glow and it feels silky soft on the skin. I’m currently using the Eco Tools Large Powder Brush to apply it and they go really nicely together.
Annie’s Burger Shack is one of those mysterious places that you hear about along the grapevine, the town is always full of rumours about how incredible the food is and how much you need to go there to experience the cool atmosphere. Annie’s has recently moved to bigger premises (they’ve been open since 2009!) and is now in the heart of the Lace Market in Nottingham, a short walk from the town centre. Luke and I ventured there the other night on an impromptu whim after a cheeky pint because our tummies were talking and we needed a proper burger! Because we didn’t book we had to sit outside and were not given table service, we just had to order at the bar. This was absolutely zero problem because the weather was really warm and we’ve got no problems going up to order our food!
I’m absolutely loving pineapples at the moment, as is pretty much everyone and every brand around but I didn’t really know how I wanted to incorporate them into my wardrobe as I’m not one for trend let prints and won’t wear pineapple printed shorts or kimonos, that kind of thing! Then, these little pineapple shaped beauties popped through the letter box from Joy The Store and I knew how I’d get that fruity touch into my day to day style!
When you say ‘Stoli’ to me, I automatically think of Ab Fab and Patsy’s classic Stoli & Bolly combination. Who doesn’t? But the old classic is getting a modern 2014 re-vamp. Stoli went on a tour in a 1950s van around London with their new Stole Lemonade creation, offering it up to the lovely local public! Unfortunately, I was unable to go but I really wanted to try this glorified vodka lemonade so they kindly sent me a bottle and I wanted to share the recipe with you guys! It’s a really refreshing summer drink and it’s great because you can alter the sweetness, lemony-ness and vodka measure in your own pitcher unlike the giant watery Wetherspoon’s pitchers that sometimes grace the table. Grab yourself a pretty mason jar and some straws and settle down for an evening in the sun. Multiply the recipe by 4 to share the pitcher with friends.
Dry shampoo, baby wipes, a little bit of sea-salt spray, loads of anti-bacterial stuff and a little bit of Avene Eau Thermale is the perfect festival survival kit. Forget the tent, I just need my Toni & Guy Sea-Salt Spray! Sporks have been my favourite piece of cutlery ever since I was in the cadets and doing Duke of Edinburgh, they’re an ingenious bit of kit that house a spoon, fork and a serrated edge for choppin’ and cuttin’!
After 3 days of DIY and a whole load of paint we’ve finally finished decorating our guest room! It looks cosmetically lovely now, if you don’t look at the floor or into the corners too closely. I live in a really old house and it was pretty run down when we took it on so this is as good as we can get it as we also rent! But, I think it looks quite lovely now and I’d be happy to have people to stay whereas before I wouldn’t have even slept in there myself by choice!
Boots always send the most beautiful packages and their most recent release which is full of best-sellers from the Boots website, #LovedByYouBoots is no exception. It’s jam packed full of incredible products, some I’ve tried, some I love and some I’ve wanted to try for ages so I feel super lucky to have this land on my doorstep.
Here are a few pieces that I really want to get my hands on, not the most summery outfit but I’ve been wanting a pair of grey skinnies for a while and these Topshop Jamie ripped knees ones are just beautiful. I’ve also just bought these Dune Espadrilles, they crept their way into my wardrobe just before payday because they were too cute and too much of a bargain in the sale to resist. I normally despise Missguided but as I have to look on their site quite a lot for work sometimes I come across a piece that I actually like and it surprises me! I really like this slouchy bag, I think it’s lovely and simple. Paired with this grey top from Warehouse, which hopefully won’t make me look like a dental nurse, I think I’ve got a nice little outfit here. Excuse me while I go shopping…
Today I’m reviewing a little place that I’ve wanted to go for a while now as I’ve always loved the way that it looked and the branding and the general feel of the place looked great so at the weekend I ventured along with the intention of doing a little review to see if it was up to scratch to recommend on next week’s Grazia regional blogger feature – #WhatToDoThisWeek, where I give people the heads up about somewhere fab to go in Nottingham for the coming week.
This week I’ve gone for an old favourite of mine for Grazia’s #WhatToDoThisWeek feature, The Boilermaker cocktail bar in the Hockley area of Nottingham. This place is awesome. The cocktails are so original and the service is lovely and the whole place is just super cool as you go through what looks essentially like a boiler repair shop through a fake toilet into a really chilled atmosphere that serve amazing drinks. I’d definitely recommend it! My favourite is the Edison Medicine!
