Avene is a brand that I really like, I love their chic and clean packaging and I’ve been a fan of the Eau Thermale, the spring water facial spray, for a while now because it’s so refreshing. I use it over make-up and I have a mini one in my handbag for travelling and when the library just gets too much I have a little spray and it chills me out a bit.
These remind me of the classic slip-on Vans that I used to have when I was younger, the comfiest shoes ever! I’ve been seeing them a lot all over Pinterest, I know there’s some amazing Celine ones floating about in the fash world but clearly my student budget won’t stretch to those beauties. I was contemplating getting some all black Vans in this style but then my friend gave me a heads up about these lovely little ones from Topshop. As soon as I heard about them I snapped them up. I love the casual look they give
to an outfit, I can’t wait to wear them with my leather leggings and a cosy jumper! They’re furry too! Only £18 with student discount. What do you think?
Soap & Glory are a gorgeous brand. Pink, girly, but not too sweet and full of giggles. Their bodycare range has been rocking my socks for quite a few years now and I don’t think that will stop any time soon. My Mammy got me these lovely little bits in my Christmas stocking and I’m dying to start using them but I need to force myself to finish some other bits first because otherwise I end up with about a million half empty bottles? I can’t be the only one?
I thought it wasn’t possible, for my love for my new baby, MAC Amplified Creme in Blankety to be stronger than it is already. Then, I decided I needed a new gloss because you can’t wear lipstick everyday can you? Sometimes you need a little sumthin-sumthin without going all out on a lippy you’ll need to retouch, and I can’t cope without a mirror when I have to touch anything up.
So I popped into Marks & Spencer because I’ve heard their lip glosses are lovely and at only £5 you can’t really go wrong. From the Limited Collection I picked up the shade Nude, I was tempted by Raspberry & Apricot but I wanted something to go with Blankety. I love the packaging, I think it’s really pretty and the colour is lovely, a perfect match. It has tiny bits of shimmer in it but doesn’t look like an awful chunky glittery lip gloss I might have worn circa 2005 or something. It’s not sticky in the slightest which is an obvious plus, we don’t want hair sticking to lip gloss nightmares.
I’ve not done a haul post in a while so I thought I’d share a few bits I picked up in Boots that I’ve either been wanting to repurchase for a while or wanted to try out. I suppose it’s not really a haul if it’s only 4 things but still!
Hydraluron from Indeed Labs
This is such a hyped product, I’m sure you’ve read about it a million times before but I loved it when I had it originally and really saw a difference in my skin when I stopped using it when I ran out so I’m so glad that I picked this up in Boots the other day, a third off too! Get me back to lovely skin with 1000x more moisture, yeeees.
I have been a rubbish beauty blogger, I haven’t ever had a MAC lipstick. This is my first ever one and I love it. I’m not a massive lipstick wearer, but I wanted to try and make an effort and wear a more everyday lipstick to try and polish up my look a little bit. I was looking at Freckletone, which is a gorgeous nude but it didn’t stand out on my lips enough as they’re quite pink already. I wanted something with a bit more coverage and pigment and so went for this Amplified Creme beauty in Blankety. I have a post coming up with me wearing this with a cheeky little complimentary gloss!
Whistles is one of my favourite brands, they just seem to get it right for me every time, their clean lines and punchy prints are just gorgeous and their pieces are always cut beautifully.
But, confession, I haven’t actually bought anything from Whistles. Until now. They’re slightly out of my student price range unfortunately but a girl can dream right? Alas, the dream came true on Sunday afternoon when I spied the infamous red letters on the window of the store. S A L E. Utt-ooohhh! There goes all my un-disposable income.
I’m definitely a closet Nicki Minaj fan. There, I’ve said it. I pretty much love her. She’s hilarious and I do really like her music, especially her early Young Money stuff when she wasn’t all over David Guetta. Anyway, I’m not on the other hand, usually a fan of celeb fragrances, they either all smell the same, I’m looking at you Britney, or are just made because they know it’ll sell ridiculously fast – hi, One Direction.
Another hair post this week! Dry shampoo is one of my staple hair styling products, but this one has disappointed me! I hate to say this because I do like Batiste hair products normally, I’ve bought their normal dry shampoo for years but this one, I think because of the XXLness of this product it makes your hair feel really thick and sticky and horrible! I mean, I’m going to use it up because I’ve bought it but I won’t be buying this one again. I’ll buy the normal dry shampoo again but this one was horrible! It didn’t make my hair feel fresh at all, just sticky and full of residue. Not the idea of a dry shampoo at all! The only nice thing about this is the smell, it does smell lovely.
