When we saw an ad on Facebook for a ‘Free BBQ Opening Night’ at Jim’s Smokehouse, a new southern American BBQ restaurant it looked like a good destination for a cheeky after work dinner! I mean, who doesn’t love a) a free dinner and b) Texas BBQ food. We’re talking beef brisket, burgers, ribs and chicken. Jim’s Smokehouse has recently opened in the Lace Market area of Nottingham and is described as a Texas Smokehouse in which everything is cooked Low ‘n’ Slow.
Another beauty review coming at you today. I’ve been on a bit of a beauty rampage, trying to find those holy grail products and whittle down my make-up bag (eventually!) Today, I’m talking about the Liz Earle Perfect Fix Concealer! This is a push up concealer and it’s really creamy in consistency, is quite pigmented (I think I might have bought the shade too dark for my skin, especially in the winter season) and has pretty good staying power! It’s around £13.50 which is slightly cheaper than say, a MAC concealer but of course it’s more expensive than your average ‘drug-store’ concealer.
Today’s post is all about another product from the awesome Boots Let’s Give it A Go box. The No7 Instant Radiance Bronzing Highlighter – £9.95* has become a firm favourite in my makeup bag. It’s overtaken Benefit’s Sun Beam for me which has been a staple for years in my everyday makeup routine. This No7 highlighter is one I know I would repurchase already and I’ve only had it about a month! It’s really easy to apply and is so blend-able. Sometimes I find Benefit’s Sun Beam hard to blend as it’s quite a wet product where as this one just solid and more of a non-sticky balm. The colour is really similar though! All in all, I would massively recommend this product. Love it!
I like to think of myself as quite the fake tan connoisseur, if there is such a thing! I like to be tanned and I’ve tried a fair few out in my time as a tanner! This is the new release from Fake Bake – Faux Glo is specifically for legs but I used it all over when I trialled it out the other night. Three of us actually tested this out as I went on a night out with the girls from work and we were getting ready in the hotel, it was a hit with all three of us! It’s really, really easy to apply and the finish is awesome. The only thing that I’d criticise it that the spray is quite wide and so can go everywhere! It was slightly messy, so I’d probably only use it outside or sitting down on an old dark towel as it was quite unruly when sprayed. The finish is amazing, it was a nice colour and it was literally like foundation for your legs. It dried really fast too! I’d definitely use it again.
Another super cosy addition to my winter wardrobe is this Glamorous Cocoon Cardigan. This is so soft and comfortable, it’s perfect for dressing up in the day and wearing to work, this is a typical work outfit for me! It’s also amazing if you want to cuddle up on the sofa with some leggings – the perfect winter investment! I’m wearing it with my new favourite Warehouse skirt, some lovely chunky ASOS Chelsea boots and an ASOS v-neck tee.
This post is all about the softest, buttery leather skirt I have ever seen! It’s so comfy and easy to wear, it goes with anything but for this outfit post I decided to go for a more casual look with my Nike Air Max Thea trainers & a Vans t-shirt. This skirt is from Warehouse, a brand I’ve often walked past I’ll admit it, in favour of other places like Zara but I will definitely be shopping there more in the future. I’ve recent just bought the leather jacket in a wish list post I did a few weeks ago and I’ve been so impressed with it. I had a faux-leather skirt from Miss Selfridge which was a size too big for me and looked nowhere near as nice as this one so that’s been forever shunned in the place of this beauty! My favourite new A/W piece. Check out the rest of the skirts at Warehouse, you’ll definitely find one that you’ll love!
Sleek is a brand that I’ve only dabbled in with a few cheek/blusher/bronzer products. I absolutely love their contour kit, I’ll be repurchasing that forever but I haven’t ventured further into the realms of the other items! I received this in the Boots Give it A Go Daily box that I featured in my last post and I’ve decided to give it a separate post review because I’m loving it!
The Boots box is back and this one is the best one yet. Showcasing some amazing make up products and tools, this #GiveItAGoDaily box has everything included to create this season’s hottest new looks from the berry lip to green nails to the ever-classic smokey eye and I’m loving it. They’ve got a page full of tips and tricks for how to get these hot looks over on their site so definitely go and check that out for some beauty inspo!
Let me introduce you to one of my favourite holiday outfits, the Boohoo Maxi Dress. I love the pattern, the back detailing and the split up the sides. I always find maxi dresses really hard to walk in because my legs get all tangled up but this one is super flowy and easy to move around in! I had to get this dress taken in as it was swamping me as it only came in S/M/L which is always dangerous sizing ground I think but my all star Mummy took it in for me.
Today, I’ve got a little wish list of AW lovelies that I’ve got my eye on. First up is this Marc Jacobs watch from Watches2U, I was recently having a little Google sesh for a leather strap watch and I came across this MJ one on Watches2U, isn’t it lovely? Next up is this beautiful Matt & Nat Bag from ASOS. It’s such a classic and simple design and it looks amazing quality. Continuing the leather love-in I’ve got this Warehouse Rib Sleeve Biker Jacket included. This may have already made it’s way into my wardrobe but it’s so beautiful I couldn’t not put it in my wish list to share it with you guys! Also, Warehouse are doing 20% student discount at the moment so definitely get your skates on and take advantage of that.
