I’ve been after this lip pencil for months now, I’ve wanted the perfect orangey red lipstick for so long and just couldn’t find what I wanted on the high-street which was making me frustrated! I was buying lipsticks and they just weren’t right, so I’d buy another one, telling myself I couldn’t afford the NARS one, but after all if I buy the perfect one I won’t need to buy any more, right?! Well this is the plan. Come back to me in a month when I’ve bought 3 new lipsticks…
Great interview with an up & coming Brit actor ready to hit the big time. Read it so you can say you knew about him before he was famous.
This has to be my new favourite moisturiser, perfect for my skin type, sinks in easily and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy. This little beauty is specifically formulated for oily skin and leaves it lovely and matte ready for your favourite primer to pop on top. Why not give it a go? It’s currently only £8 in Boots, not £12!
As we know, I’m on the hunt for the perfect primer, and this one comes pretty close! I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve changed up my skincare routine a little bit and I’m using a new moisturiser too which may suit my skin more than my old one, I’m going to feature that soon! Anyway, back to the primer, this is the Bourjois Happy Light Matte Primer, all the words in that title. They have a satin or radiance version too, but of course, I got the matte one for my oily skin. It’s £10.99 from ASOS or any high street retailer which I think is quite a good price for something that really holds my makeup in place! This really does feel mattifying on my face as soon as I put it on! Also my makeup has been lasting considerably longer, and if it does fade off a tiny bit, it’s even, and not patchy like normal! This is great, especially around my nose, where I find that I’m most oily, I don’t have the annoying residue of my foundation like I normally do. All in all, I’m really impressed and this is definitely one of my favourites this month already.
So this is my Day 2 of Bristol Fashion Week outfit post! I hope you like it. All photography by Luke Svarc. I wore:
Stella McCartney is a woman and a brand that just exudes a crazy amount of chic elegance in my opinion. This is my first fragrance by McCartney but I’ve been tempted before by her as a fragrance brand. This is L.I.L.Y, a gorgeous perfume for the evening. It smells absolutely beautiful, it’s quite masculine and ‘earthy’ with a lot of seduction thrown in. From the Harvey Nichols website, I quote ‘It features top notes evoke the rich, mineral freshness of truffle. At its heart are notes of green and luminous lily of the valley create an irresistible addiction. The base notes reveal the earthy warmth of oak moss.’ This is definitely the perfume for you if you want a sexy evening scent without being too girly and floral, this is definitely masculine and strong but with a feminine edge. Much like Stella herself, I’d imagine and quite how I like to see myself!
Today I’m featuring this stunning blue sweatshirt from Louche at John Lewis. Louche is a new brand that’s being stocked in John Lewis and they’ve got some really lovely pieces, some vintage style dresses and shirts that are really beautiful. The colour really drew me to this piece, it’s stunning and the fact that I thought it would be really versatile. In this post I’ve styled it on a casual Sunday in town but I think I’d definitely smarten it up and wear it with some trousers and heels too. I think it’d also look fab with a white shirt underneath. It also comes in white which would look fab on really tanned skin but it would wash me out! The blue trend is really in, check out this article from Vogue for a bit more inspiration.
When I say to you, Paul’s Boutique, there’s probably a few images that come to mind. For me it’s definitely the bag I had about 6 years ago, black and covered in crazy neon patches. I know, I haven’t always been a fashion blogger, k?
Well, that image is well and truly a thing of the past as they’ve had an amazing rebrand into a much more stylish and on trend brand. They kindly let me review one of their really popular bags, the Fleur Reversible Clutch Bag. This one is bright pink on the outside and on the inside it’s a lovely dark purple, kind of an aubergine colour which is perfect for the autumn/winter seasons. The pink, on the other hand is fab all year round and is amazing for adding a pop of colour into any outfit. Here, I’ve styled it with more colour as I think the bright blue and the bright pink look really good next to each other. This is a really casual look but I think this bag is so versatile that it can be a great day clutch (it’s big enough too!) and a really good night out bag too. It comes with a little hand strap too so dancing without worrying about your handbag is easy as pie.
As you guys may or may not know I’m Fashion & Beauty for Uni2Know mag, a student magazine based in Nottingham. Recently we had a photo shoot to do for the newest issue and I was in desperate need of some models! It’s difficult to find male models around uni because people aren’t normally keen to offer themselves up for it! My solution came from having Sunday lunch with my Uncle & Auntie, Alex & Alan who happen to be the directors of Fresh Logistics, a ‘temperature controlled courier and storage company’ which is based just down the road from us in Long Eaton. Fresh logistics work mainly for the food and pharmaceutical sectors and provide specialist bespoke services to the frozen, chilled or ambient market. They’ve also just won an award last week for Operations SME at the SHD awards which is wicked! They did me a huge favour by asking a few of their lads that work for them to help us out! Here are a few of the shots from the day, shot by Neil Kates of Keeping It Neil Photography.
