I’m one of the lucky 75 bloggers that have been chosen to try out this lovely little skincare regime that’s coming over from Austria. Edelweiss is actually a flower, not just a brand name and houses some incredible hidden cosmetic powers. It naturally protects against the sun’s harmful rays and is packed full of antioxidants. It can also help with ageing, sagging and rebuilds collagen! Clever little plant huh?
Luke and I love a vintage and retro find so we popped along to Southwell Antique & Vintage fair on Sunday to see if we could find any bargains for our new house. We actually found a bargain 70s two-tier coffee table for £14 which was great but I’m keeping that for another post, surprises, surprises. Anyway, here’s a little photo diary of the day, we saw some lovely bits. We also went to a car boot sale the day after and it’s so funny to see the difference in what people take in terms of goods to sell but you can also find some similar bits so it’s useful to go along and grab a bargain or two.
The thing about me is, I love food and I quite like cooking but I’m a lazy cook and if it’s just for me, like it has been for pretty much 3 years of my university life, I’ll cook something big like chilli or lasagne and make it last 3 days or do something simple such as spicy chicken with some pasta and veg. So, there you have it, my cooking repertoire.
My skin has been a little bit of a nightmare recently, probably due to last minute uni deadlines and job interviews galore mixed in with stress tears and comfort eating. We all know this can become a little bit of a downer and doesn’t help if we’re already stressed! I like my current skincare routine but I feel like I need a little switch up! So here’s some products I’ve been lusting after recently for my oily/combination skin issues! I like trying new products because I’ve not yet found the total holy grail of my skin care routine, so if people have any recommendations I’d love to hear them. My little wish list below includes two micellar waters, the classic Bioderma green cap which is of course a pure necessity and then another little beauty from NUXE which I’d be interested to try as I’ve liked their products in the past so I’m wondering whether this cleansing water is up to scratch! I’ve also includes two night creams, the Origins Night-A-Mins is one I’ve been after for so long but my student budget won’t let me drop £34 on a moisturiser I’m only using once a day unfortunately. The alternative is the No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream which I’d definitely be up for trying as I trust No7 down to the ground. As well as these, I’ve got a little mask on there, the REN Clarimatte Invisible Pores Mask which looks fab and the Kiehl’s Eye Cream which looks lovely and hydrating! Wishing really hard right now!
This product is one I’ve looked at for a while and wondered whether it was worth a go! Luke and I went into Boots the other day and it was 2 for £4 and he uses another product of theirs anyway at at £3.79 each I thought why not give it a go. So, the next day was hair wash day and I tried it out after I’d blow dried and straightened my hair and just gave it a little spray under some layers and it was really pouffy and texturised, worked really well. It didn’t last all day of course, I brushed my hair a few times and played with it like normal but the overall effect was really good and I’m glad I bought it! So, definitely recommend this for a little bit of bounce and texture.
Fake tan has been a part of my beauty regime for at least 6-7 years now, starting with the classic Johnson’s Holiday Skin and trying all of those tanning moisturisers out to getting my first spray tan for my year 11 prom! I naturally tan after a while of being in the sun but I’m definitely not one of those people who goes brown at the slightest drop of sunshine.
I haven’t done one of these for a while so I thought I’d do an updated post on the contents of my makeup bag! I love reading these posts so if anyone has any then feel free to send them my way! I’ve got some old favourites in here and some fairly new additions that I’ve been loving recently. It’s also a mixture of both high street (drug store) products and some more expensive bits, they’re just what I’ve been using on the regular at the moment. If you’ve tried any of these products or love them as much as I do, leave me a comment and let me know.
Tidying up is never anyone’s favourite thing to do. Unless you’re off Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners. Now, I love that programme and it does always make me want to clean everything in sight but I wouldn’t say I’m that crazy about my cleaning. I like things to be clean and tidy of course but if I forget to hoover it’s not going to bring me out in a rash.
Clarins’ new summer makeup collection – Colours of Brazil is simply beautiful. The packaging is so pretty with the aztec pattern on top of the bronzer and the eye shadow palette it really gives it something extra. I love the fact that the eyeshadows themselves are embossed too, it gives such a lovely touch. The gem in this palette is the gorgeous peach coloured eye shadow, something that I would never have thought of wearing before! Previously I would have always avoided anything that was vaguely pink near my eyes but this in the inner corners of the eyes creates a gorgeous look. Paired with the two taupe and deep brown shadows on the left hand side in a smokey eye this looks amazing.
Lacock is one of my most favourite places ever, it’s situated a 10 minute drive away from my parent’s house and it’s so pretty that it’s been used for films such as Harry Potter and Pride & Prejudice! We went for an hour’s walk around it the other day whilst I was at home and had some tea and a little sit down. Here’s a photo diary of the visit!
