This is another (& the last) of my duty free buys from Tokyo. I’ve had my eye on this for a while after I’d had a recommendation on Twitter for what to pick up in duty free. I don’t own any bronzey-peach blushes like this, the majority of mine are quite strong or deep pinks so this is a nice change for me. It looks really good with a tan and makes you look more tanned when you wear it, I like it just above a matte bronzer contour for a bit of shimmer on the cheeks. It’s described on the MAC website as a mid tone beige with gold pearl. It is such a pretty shade and I’m really glad I bought it.
Today’s post comes to you with a happy full tummy and without an empty purse.
Takeaway.com were kind enough to let me review their service with a very generous voucher. Now, most of the time I eat well and I really enjoy healthy food and I think I have a pretty balanced diet but we all need to have a cheat meal every now and again because otherwise we might explode! It doesn’t have to be a takeaway, it can just be something a bit naughty cooked at home but on this occasion, a very tired Sunday evening, it was definitely a Takeaway.com moment. The only conditions were that the place that I ordered from had to accept online payment and I had to make the order on a computer not a mobile device. Not huge deal-breakers really! Here’s what I thought…
This post comes to you courtesy of a pretty amazing boyfriend. Picked all by himself, bought all by himself, I had no idea this was going to land on my desk the other night all beautifully wrapped next to my cup of tea. Such a good boy.
MAC Sheen Supreme isn’t a line that I’ve even thought about trying, I haven’t strayed away from the usual bullet shaped packaging at all but this is a little beauty. In a gorgeous deep purple/red colour, Good to Be Bad is an amazing texture, buildable to a deeper colour and is actually really nice once it’s worn off too. After worn for an hour or so, drinking, talking etc, it was still looking really good, obviously it had lost it’s shine but there was a good stain left on so it didn’t look like it had worn off too badly! A plus point, meaning that you don’t have to worry about your lipstick 24 hours a day if you wear it like some.
I’ve been dying to try this GLOW highlighter from Topshop for ages now! I took the plunge and bought one the other week on a procrastination trip to town. I went for the ‘Polished’ shade as opposed to the darker ‘Gleam’ one because I thought it was slightly prettier and would be more suited to my skin for this time of year as I’m not as tanned as I would be in the summer. This gives such a gorgeous highlight and is perfect for the tops of cheek bones and brow bones.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Here’s a sexy little red polish to get you all in the mood for tonight.
I haven’t done a nails feature for so long. For some reason, I’ve just started going off a lot of colours of my nail varnish, perhaps because it’s the winter time and I don’t think that bright pinks and minty greens look right at the moment with my outfits! I’ve been wearing pillar-box red or a really dark burgundy pretty much non-stop. I like a good nude too but I’ve been really focused on reds for a few weeks now. I picked this gorgeous red, which is in between the two I’ve been wearing, in the airport on the way home from Japan. It’s a gorgeous dark red colour once on the nails with two coats, it appears slightly lighter in the bottle but it’s a fab dark red once applied. A really chic colour and goes really well with my standard style of stripy top and black skinny jeans!
Whilst in Tokyo I picked up this little Nuxe Paris Refreshing Moisturising Mist, that sets your make up. I’ve looked on the Nuxe UK website and I can’t find it so I’m thinking that it might not be available in the UK. This little beauty smells amazing and I’ve found that it actually does keep my make-up in place for slightly longer than it normally would with my oily skin. It’s a bit wetter than other facial mists like the Avene Eau Thermale and comes out as more of a spray than a mist so you definitely have to make sure that you’re holding it a certain distance from your face otherwise you get a really wet face. This is great for these horrible winter months for giving your make-up a little refresh halfway through the day too. With rose petals and being suitable for sensitive skin it’s super gentle and is a nice finishing step to my make-up routine.
I’ve been away for just over a week from my little blog and I’ve missed it! I had scheduled a few posts so I wasn’t totally silent but I’ve missed all the blogger chats and constant Twitter! But, I’m back now and I thought I’d share a few little photos of my trip to Tokyo.
It was amazing but so tiring. Jet lag has got me and I keep waking up really early and then crashing in the late afternoon because I have no idea what the time is! I’m very glad to be home, and we only just made it out of Narita airport because a snow storm was starting, we were actually the last flight out of Tokyo, which is quite scary because I’d spent literally every last Yen and I wouldn’t have been able to survive all Tom Hanks in the Terminal!
I always love a good face mask, they feel like you’re properly giving something back to your skin I think and I try to do one at least once a week. Usually a Sunday where I’m washing my make-up brushes and planning my week! So, when Avojo contacted me to see if I’d like to try their Black Peel Off Face Mask I thought yes! It’s fab for oily and blackhead prone skin and really peels them all out, grim, yes, but necessary!
When I saw Escentual tweet about bloggers for reviewing this Klorane shampoo for oily hair which contains nettles, I was really up for it. I have oily skin and need to use dry shampoo on my second day hair to give it a refresh, so I thought why not give it a try and see if it can make my hair feel cleaner and last that extra day without too much dry shampoo!
Seriously, what would we do without ASOS in our lives now? They truly are life saving aren’t they? I’ve really been loving the 60s look at the moment and I’ve been after the perfect pair of loafers. I’ve been on a mission but it’s been a bit of a porridge/Goldilocks hunt for them. All the one’s I’ve been looking at in the shops have either looked too cheap, been too shiny or just haven’t fitted. There’s also the nightmare of to tassel or not to tassel! But I finally found a lovely little pair I like from ASOS. What do you think?
