Today I’m featuring this stunning blue sweatshirt from Louche at John Lewis. Louche is a new brand that’s being stocked in John Lewis and they’ve got some really lovely pieces, some vintage style dresses and shirts that are really beautiful. The colour really drew me to this piece, it’s stunning and the fact that I thought it would be really versatile. In this post I’ve styled it on a casual Sunday in town but I think I’d definitely smarten it up and wear it with some trousers and heels too. I think it’d also look fab with a white shirt underneath. It also comes in white which would look fab on really tanned skin but it would wash me out! The blue trend is really in, check out this article from Vogue for a bit more inspiration.
When I say to you, Paul’s Boutique, there’s probably a few images that come to mind. For me it’s definitely the bag I had about 6 years ago, black and covered in crazy neon patches. I know, I haven’t always been a fashion blogger, k?
Well, that image is well and truly a thing of the past as they’ve had an amazing rebrand into a much more stylish and on trend brand. They kindly let me review one of their really popular bags, the Fleur Reversible Clutch Bag. This one is bright pink on the outside and on the inside it’s a lovely dark purple, kind of an aubergine colour which is perfect for the autumn/winter seasons. The pink, on the other hand is fab all year round and is amazing for adding a pop of colour into any outfit. Here, I’ve styled it with more colour as I think the bright blue and the bright pink look really good next to each other. This is a really casual look but I think this bag is so versatile that it can be a great day clutch (it’s big enough too!) and a really good night out bag too. It comes with a little hand strap too so dancing without worrying about your handbag is easy as pie.
As you guys may or may not know I’m Fashion & Beauty for Uni2Know mag, a student magazine based in Nottingham. Recently we had a photo shoot to do for the newest issue and I was in desperate need of some models! It’s difficult to find male models around uni because people aren’t normally keen to offer themselves up for it! My solution came from having Sunday lunch with my Uncle & Auntie, Alex & Alan who happen to be the directors of Fresh Logistics, a ‘temperature controlled courier and storage company’ which is based just down the road from us in Long Eaton. Fresh logistics work mainly for the food and pharmaceutical sectors and provide specialist bespoke services to the frozen, chilled or ambient market. They’ve also just won an award last week for Operations SME at the SHD awards which is wicked! They did me a huge favour by asking a few of their lads that work for them to help us out! Here are a few of the shots from the day, shot by Neil Kates of Keeping It Neil Photography.

Hydraluron is a massive hype, cult, niche product that I LOVE, it really has made a huge difference to my skincare routine. It’s £24.99 from Boots for 30ml. This REN serum is £32.00 for 30ml but at the moment is £16.00 on ASOS. REN is more expensive but you need half the amount that you do with Hydraluron! Hydraluron needs about a pea sized amount for your whole face and with REN I just need one tiny pump as seen in the photo below! From the website it says that it’s ‘A concentrate formulated to dramatically hydrate and replenish the skin leaving it visibly plumped, smoothed and comfortable.’ With the results being 1. Optimises hydration. 2. Restores softness, elasticity and comfort. 3. Skin looks replenished, smoothed and healthy. It is also suitable for all skin types, you use this morning and night and followed by a moisturiser.
I picked this beautiful blusher up from Superdrug this week and had to share it with you because it’s so pretty, perfect so summer. It’s a stronger summer blush and easily lends itself to the perfect tanned, bronzed look. It may be more suited to brunettes as I can’t see this colour working very well with blonder hair just due to the intensity of it, if you’re blonde and it works for you, let me know, I might be wrong. This is Sleek blush in ‘Sahara’ and at only £4.49 it’s a bargain. I actually picked mine up for £3.04 because of student discount and a tiny bit of Superdrug Beauty Card Points!
So I mentioned earlier in the week that I’d bought a new La Roche Posay product in the Boots 3 for 2 offer. It’s the La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I Targeted Breakout Corrector, essentially a spot treatment. I had to full read the packaging to work this out though mind, I was unsure of whether it was a serum like the Effaclar Duo or if it as a spot treatment. After reading, it’s the latter.
The beauty blogger’s day is made when we spot that Boots 3 for 2 sign isn’t it? I always see so many tweets and Instagrams about 3 for 2 buys, I love it, we’re all so easily swayed to buy things that we’ve wanted for a while because it’s 3 for 2. Of course, it’s bargain central, and it’s beauty. It’s a no brainer, we love it. Anyway, luckily I actually needed some face wash/cleanser in this 3 for 2 haul and I also picked up a La Roche Posay product that I’ll be featuring soon and some Soap & Glory conditioner. You can’t do a Boots 3 for 2 without slipping some Soap & Glory in there, non?
Here’s me making an effort to blog about one of my other massive loves. Food. Especially Mexican food. Now, I’m from the land of Mission Burrito, the kids up here don’t seem to know what that is but I have them near me at home in Bristol, Bath and Oxford, I’m not sure if they’re the only branches but that was my first exposure to burrito fast food. So, when I came back to uni in October and saw that this little baby, Barburritor, had popped up in Nottingham we all went wild.
As always, I’m on the hunt for the perfect primer. This is similar to Nanoblur by Indeed labs, you apply it before or after make-up.
I’ve only tried it under make-up as a proper primer as I find when I apply anything other than Eau Thermale by Avene or the NUXE moisturising mist over makeup it goes all weird and patchy! This works pretty well under makeup, I feel like it gives me an extra few hours more than other primers do, but I’m still shiny by about lunchtime. To be honest, I don’t think I’ll ever find anything to totally control my oily skin but this is really good so far, keeps shine at bay for atleast 4 hours! At £13 for 18ml it may be slightly expensive but it works pretty well. I might try it over makeup but it is quite liquid-like so I need to trial and error this!
