We’ve all seen Jamie’s Italian Christmas from 2000-whatever and thought that adding Italian flavours to Christmas delights was an amazing idea. Yuhuh, we did. And, you might have seen my Very Important Bella announcement last month all about the delicious work I’ll be getting up to with Bella Italia so it’s about time for another instalment. Say hello to Christmas at Bella and I have five amazing dishes to tell you about. They have a pretty extensive Christmas menu where you can have 2 courses for £17.99 or a tasty 3 courses for £19.99 but here are my favourite dishes on their festive menu.
There’s been a lot of chatter around female friendships / ‘girl gangs’ / finding your tribe for a few years now and it’s been all talk in the media and book market too since Lily Pebbles released The F Word. It’s one of those things I’ve always thought about because friends have been a funny thing for me over the years. I’m one of those people that has a few good friends, not a whole secondary school so I’ve sometimes felt out of place if I don’t have that one person with me that I know I can count on.
What’s your perfect Saturday? Mine is definitely something food and fun based and that’s exactly what the recent Bumble event organised by the gorge Jess was all about. A bunch of us blogger babes headed to Oscar & Rosie’s in Nottingham to create our own pizzas, learn how to chuck the dough about and basically have the best time ever.
If you know me, you’ll know that I’m a pizza fanatic so when my buddies over at Chicago Town asked to collaborate on a post again, you betcha I’m there. I’m becoming a bit of a Chicago Town The Takeaway pizza ambassador by default but I’m totally ok with that because their pizzas are some of the best!
We headed down to Birmingham last weekend to see Lower Than Atlantis and Hands Like Houses at the O2 Academy which was pretty great! Before our gig we headed to Strada at the ICC for some pre-show munching so I thought I’d tell you what I thought. The ICC is just by Brindley Place and the canal so the setting is lovely as you can see out of the window. In the summer, I bet it’s amazing as Strada can open up the doors for a little al fresco dining.
It’s cold, Storm Barbara is raging on and you might not have even finished your Christmas shopping yet. And, I know exhaustion has set in from seeing every friend and family member you’ve ever known within the space of two weeks! Work is finally over though but this means a million invites for festive get-togethers. Sometimes, you just need to pop a pizza in the oven and watch Elf. That’s exactly my plan for tonight. Hello pizza, my old friend…
Having my tea out is one of my favourite hobbies. Yep, eating out is definitely a hobby, it’s 2016, I can claim that, right? Our latest trial was Coast To Coast in Victoria Centre, Nottingham. The all-American inspired restaurant is supposed to give you a taste of anywhere in the USA that you’d want to visit. Now, I don’t know really how authentic things are because I’ve only been to New York for a couple of days so I’m just going to rate it on the usual benchmarks…
Yep, I love pizza and these Chicago Town ‘The Takeaway’ pizzas are insanely good. They actually taste like the perfect fresh out of the box pizza that you dream about on a Saturday evening. We indulged with a little pizza action this weekend. As much as I love healthy food, working out and the occasional clean eating stint, pizza is good for the soul and it’s probably one of my favourite foods ever.
Another day, another pizza! We love a Sunday evening out for tea and last week we popped along to Revolution in Hockley to sample their Summer Special menu which is a new, fresh and light selection of dishes. This teeny tiny new menu is packed full of flavours from Rome and Naples and has 5 mains and one dessert. Luke and I both played it safe and went for pizzas! I had the Campo De’ Fiori Romana which has courgette, anchovies, mozzarella and ricotta as well as a little bit of pesto, this was really fresh and tasty but I would have definitely liked to have a bit of a tomato base with some more cheese. I know that’s not as ‘light’ as it’s meant to be but that’s personal preference.
From a healthy-eating post on Monday to a not-so-healthy eating review today! I love pizza. I will never give it up, sorry clean-eating me, it won’t happen. When Chicago Town sent me a few vouchers to pick up their latest range of pizza-inventions I was straight down to Tesco picking up these badboys. First up, the Pizza-Melt, I have a bone to pick with them about this though, I expected (maybe naively) for the pack to have two of these pizza melts in but it actually only had one. They were obviously really tasty, we tried the pepperoni, ham & mushroom variety and they were a nice little Sunday afternoon snack! We also went for the classic Deep Dish mini pizzas which microwave in a diet-cheating 3 minutes and they were also amazingly tasty! Check them out if you’re after a seriously quick and yummy cheat meal.
