Date night food is serious business for us and I wanted to share some of my recent favourites that have filled our bellies on dates from the past few weeks in Nottingham.
1. Bar Iberico
Crispy chicken. Those two words and you know I’m talking about tapas dreamboat Bar Iberico. This place is just delicious. They do an incredible ‘rapid menu’ where you can get bread and dipping oil and two tapas for a tenner. Perfect if you want to share with someone else and have four different dishes and bread each. It doesn’t sound a lot but you’ll definitely be full, I promise! This menu is before 6pm on a Saturday I think and it’s well worth heading there early for a bargain. You can’t book so be prepared to either wait for a table or you can sit at the bar for proper Barcelona tapas vibes.
I would massively recommend their flatbreads as they are really generous and their crispy cauliflower or chicken is a must if you like sticky, spicy snacks that are seriously moreish.

2. Oscar & Rosie’s
All aboard the carb train. Oscar and Rosie’s is a great pizza place with rustic charm. I’d recommend (as was recommended to me…) that you should go for one pizza and one mac and cheese to share. This is the way to do O&R’s. We also added wedges and coleslaw for the ultimate feast.
Massively recommend Boom Chicken Wah Wah or Meat Sweats pizzas.

3. Nottingham Street Food – Smoqued Taqueria
If you’re into super tasty Mexican-inspired street food then I would recommend Smoqued at the Notts Street Food market in Intu Victoria Centre. Open Thurs-Sun and with happy hour all day on Thursday this is the perfect casual mate or date location.
I’ve tried their Buttermilk Chicken Box which is fries, crispy fried chicken and amazing citrus slaw packed into a lil box. I also loved their Maple Pork Belly Burger which was just out of this world with charred pineapple and spicy mayo. They also do epic loaded Mexican fries too. Get involved!

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these date night eating spots that I love, or, which one looks like it would be your fave!
