Another little money diary but this time with a difference because we collectively spent over £1,000 because we started really paying for our wedding next year! And, we went shopping so a little bit different to past diaries…
Thursday
Halloween! But, no freaky or creepy stuff for us tonight as we’re off to the O2 to watch Little Mix in one of the boxes. This is an amazing work perk, we get to apply for a seat in the box from one of our suppliers and I was lucky enough to get two tickets.
Chilling in the morning but we head to the station for lunch time and grab a coffee and a toastie each in Caffe Nero as I have a half price voucher for the food – £9.25. I pop this on Acasa – the app we use to share our spending and it all evens out over time. Get to London and we’re on the tube to London Bridge to a little bar we love for a quick pint before heading over to the O2 for our hotel and the show. Beer £10 for us both, Luke pays so we’re almost even from our Neros earlier – this is how we do a lot of our spending and we just keep track on Acasa. TFL – £4.80
On the way to London we get an email with our deposit link so this wings it’s way over to our wedding venue. Deposit – £1250.00 *insert sick face emoji!*
Our hotel gives us a free drink voucher with our stay in one of their bars which is a lovely touch, made up for the lack of biscuits in the room, and we head over to see Little Mix! The food and drink inside the box is complementary which is another amazing perk and we have a lovely night.

Friday
Up and getting ready, it’s super rainy in London so we decide to head to Westfield for some shopping. Stop at Costa – £3.85 for toast and a lil orange juice. Off to Stratford. Hit up Primark – £37.10 for some jumpers and cosy tops for winter. Head to Victoria’s Secret because it’s my absolute fave place for underwear – £25.99 for 7 pairs of pants which is amazing value.
Nando’s – £20ish for us both – Luke pays. Fino pitta is the only way to go in Nando’s and peri peri chips. Weekday next, pick up a fab new skirt and some nice earrings – £37.85. Time for the train and home! M&S Food – £1.60 for a drink which is classic St Pancras prices. Home and car park – £7 for my half.
Saturday
Car’s in for it’s service – already paid for as we have a service plan which I begrudged signing up for at the time but now am so pleased we did, we don’t notice the payment with everything else that goes out each month so it’s amazing not to have to pay for the service every year now.
Wetherspoons. Traditional breakfast. Rugby World Cup. £10.90 for us both.
£6.76 Speedydot – hosting for this little blog you’re reading goes out!

Sunday
Brunch with some of our besties – £19.00 for us both. We both have pancakes at Copper City and it’s so nice. Pop to Primark, £7.40 for some Christmas stocking fillers and then we head to the cinema. We have two free Nero’s coffee codes and have two free cinema ticket codes too because we missed a showing the other day we’d already paid for and Cineworld sent us a couple of complimentary ones which was really nice of them. Free coffee and trip to the cinema to see Maleficent – loved it! Also loving the 4 day weekend we’d had.
Luke pops for a drink with his mate and I head to the sofa to catch up on Real Housewives and to browse Lookfantastic, spent £12.80 on Magnitone heads for my cleansing brush that I needed. Found a 20% off code somewhere on the internet and free postage.
Monday
Such a Monday-ish Monday and order a Yumbles cookie for my bestie from home for her birthday to make her smile – £9.40. Super boring lunch time, probably had to post some eBay parcels as usual for a Monday and pick up some Coke Zeros from One Below – £0.68. Bargain.

Tuesday
Nothing actually spent physically today but £3.90 pops out of my account for TFL again. Guh.
Wednesday
Head to the library to see if they have a book I want to read and they don’t which is annoying but I have a look for a second hand one on World of Books and they have one! £2.99 with free postage again which is sweet for a read that I know I’ll enjoy and I’ll also pass onto my friend who I know loves these books too.
Such a weird week! A 4 day weekend, a shopping trip to Westfield, brunch out and a wedding deposit. Luckily the deposit was from our savings and we were obviously planning it but ouch all the same. I’m planning to do a wedding money diary if that’s of interest to anyone? Let me know in the comments!
