The Hoxton, Holborn Review

This weekend we stayed at The Hoxton in Holborn and it really was lovely so I wanted to do a little review because I was so impressed.

We paid for this trip, it wasn’t gifted in any way. I mentioned it was for my birthday on the booking section on Hotels.com and the team left us a small bottle of wine in the room with a note saying happy birthday which was so nice. They also had a lovely little map, magazines and nice guides of the area too to read through.

Price / Value for Money
We booked this room on Hotels.com about three months before we were due to stay for just under £150 for the night. This was one of their Snug rooms which is the second from smallest size. We were only staying for one night so a little room was perfect to just get ready in, chill and sleep! I think for London this is a price I’m happy to pay and it really was a lovely room.

Room
As I said, it was small but perfectly formed and we had a double bed and a really big shower in the bathroom, with obviously a toilet and a sink. The decor and styling of everything was amazing, we loved the interior design of the whole hotel and our room was gorgeous. Your classic white hotel sheets, really big comfy pillows and gorgeous design features. Plus, a massive TV which is awesome. I hate when hotel rooms have teeny tiny little tellies. The radio was on playing Smooth when we arrived which was really cute to walk into!

Check in was from 2pm but we arrived around 12.30 and our room was ready which was fab. Check out was at 12pm which I think is really great also.

Location
Holborn is super close to Oxford Street, it’s a 20 minute walk and we were heading to the London Palladium on Friday night so this was perfect to walk back to with McDonalds in hand as the tube was manic as you’d expect after a gig. We also walked around to the British Museum and then to Seven Dials and then Covent Garden after checking out so the location is pretty great to get to a lot of popular things in London.

Amenities / Facilities
Water and milk were provided. Actual milk, not weird sachets, an actual kettle and actual mugs. Again, I hate little tiny mugs and cups in hotel rooms so I was so impressed with the real chunky mugs. There was also glasses for water and the wine that they provided. Plus, a breakfast bag was included in our room, I didn’t know this when I booked but they gave us some cute little paper bags to tick our dietary requirements on and then they dropped off some yoghurt and granola, a banana and some orange juice in the morning which was so needed and was delicious. I loved this touch!

But, no biscuits in the room at all. This has been the second hotel I’ve stayed in in London where there’s been no biscuits. Did I miss a memo about this?

The shower was amazing and there were some lovely toiletries that smelled incredible and it was incredibly clean too.

There was a restaurant and bar with the hotel too and it was buzzing the whole time we stayed here so it must be good.

Overall I would 100% stay at a Hoxton hotel again and there’s loads all over the world so I think it’ll be a go-to hotel for us! Have you stayed at a Hoxton hotel before? Let me know in the comments.
