Mother’s Day is just around the corner! This is certainly a year where you’ll want to show your mum just how much you care. Mother’s Day is on March 14th, so obviously restrictions will still be in place which means that you will be limited as to what you can do, but there are still lots of ways to make the day extra special and treat your mum.
1. Spending Time Together
The best gift for a mother in times like this is simply to spend time together. If you live together or are in a support bubble, you could start the day off by bringing her breakfast in bed or with a nice brunch. If you don’t live together, the latest easing of restrictions means that you can meet her outside for recreational purposes. This could be taking a nice stroll together and enjoy coffee and a cake on a park bench. Of course, for those that do not live nearby it will be harder, but you can still enjoy a good catchup over a video call and make this more fun by playing games, having a few drinks, or sharing a meal.
2. Gift Ideas
Of course, gifts will be another way to show that you care this Mother’s Day. You can never go wrong with a chocolate Mother’s Day hamper as this will give her a little bit of everything so she can pick her favourites. Thornton’s Pearls could be another great idea as gorgeous chocolate pearls designed to recreate iconic moments of pearl jewellery in fashion, so if she is a chocolate and fashion fan (who isn’t!?) then this could be a great gift.
Following on from this, jewellery is also another thoughtful gift idea which will always be well received along with flowers. For a more personal idea, you could also give her a card with nice photos of the family or even create a digital movie slide that you could watch together to take a trip down memory lane.
3. Make Future Plans
This Mother’s Day will not be the one that anyone had hoped for, but there are reasons to be optimistic and there are now tentative dates so people can begin to make plans for the rest of the year. Therefore, you should look to a future date and make plans so that you can really enjoy spending time together after what has been such a difficult period for all.
You will want to do all that you can to show your love for your mum this Mother’s Day and, despite restrictions, there are lots of ways that you can do this and hopefully this post will help.
