3 Areas to Splurge on Your Wedding

If you aren’t typically the type of person that blows a budget, wedding budgeting and planning can be pretty tricky – and feel super expensive. Unsurprisingly there are many places that you can save on the cost of a wedding; even the dress doesn’t have to be expensive. Check out my high street wedding dress finds from a few years ago, there’ll be plenty of similar on the high street again this season.

When it comes to the splurge, though, there are a few places that will always be recommended.

1. Wedding Photographer

The wedding photographer might just be one of the most influential people at the wedding – apart from the people getting married. Wedding photos are no longer just posed images that get dusty on a shelf – modern photographs capture the shots that make a world of difference. They pick up all the most minor things, the glances between guests, the smallest of tears, and the smiles beaming from faces. Their editing skills are unrivalled, and they don’t just capture the people – they manage to capture the emotions and atmosphere.

Don’t settle for less when it comes to your wedding photographer – get the best you can afford, and one that suits your style too.

2. Food

You might not want to have a sit-down meal, and you might not want huge steaks and luxurious food. But, skimping on the food will be something that people remember. Many food trucks specialise in weddings, and they don’t have a hefty price tag – but they aren’t cheap either.

Consider the people you will be feeding – are the vast majority meat-eaters who would be excited to see a roast pork truck? Or perhaps you have a very vegan set of guests – find the best vegan food creators in the area.

The money for the food is always well spent – just make sure that you get to sample everything in advance and that they have a range of testimonials.

3. Music

You will never, ever forget the off-key singer as they broke into a rendition of an Adele song you wish you weren’t hearing. And while that can provide laughs for years to come, it is preferable to have music of a DJ that is well established. More well-established wedding entertainers will have plenty of reviews, get booked up fast and often cost a little extra. However, they are entirely worth it. Thanks to the internet, it will only take a few minutes to go through a few review websites, specifically wedding review websites and find the right entertainment for you.

While the day is about you and the person you are marrying, the people there want to celebrate with you and enjoy the time. Food, great seating and music that hits all the rights notes are perfect – and of course, the right person to capture it all!
