February Money Diary – Sausage rolls and makeup

I’m back with another payday money diary from February.

Tuesday
Savings done to his morning from payday. Paying almost the last little bit into my Lifetime ISA for the year, some Christmas savings for this year and some easy-access savings that I pop away sporadically.

I’m in the office today and as we’re not in often we don’t have loads of milk and supplies in our kitchen anymore and it’s nice to support the cafe that we have as it’s an independently owned business. Pop down and grab a coffee at work for £2.

Wasn’t very prepared this morning either and had to go out and grab some lunch, head to Birds Bakery and grab a mini sandwich crisps and couldn’t resist a small sausage roll either – £3.45

Popped into Boots too and picked up some foundation for £18 but I had a gift card from my birthday a week or so back so that was nice.

On my way home I stop and spend £6 at Aldi on chicken, veg and some little snack packs of nuts from our joint account.

Remember I’ve got the dentist this month before the next payday and I save £100 for this. I still go to my private dentist where I had my Invisalign and I have a check up on my retainer fit and a scale and polish every 6 months. I’m lucky to had some medical perks with my job and am able to claim back one of my two appointments a year but I’ve already claimed this year so I’ll need to pay for this one this time.

Also have to sent £160 to L for our unit painting that was being done in the living room whilst I was at work. I’m really happy with it and it looks fab.

Wednesday

WFH today and didn’t spend anything but we pop out for tea as our unit is still smelling really strongly of paint and we didn’t want to sit in our dining room all evening. L pays, we both have a pie and mash and a local pub.

Thursday
WFH again today but pop out to Costa with my pal for coffee at lunch time, I get them both £6.55.

Quickbooks goes out of my account too today – £7.99.

Friday
WFH again and not feeling very well. I don’t think we’ve had an online shop for a week or so either so I walk to our local Coop for a meal deal and some bread in general £3.48 after my student discount and Coop offers.

£0.79 for my iCloud storage goes out of PayPal.

Still not feeling well into the evening and L pops to the pub with our neighbour and I stay at home watching Love Is Blind. I order us an Indian for when he’s home as I had some juicy Deliveroo credit – only £13.80 for us both. I get madras curry, pilau rice, a garlic naan, some tikka salmon and lamb kebabs with some side salad and mint yoghurt.

Saturday
Chill at home in the morning and then we both head to town to catch up with some friends. I’m having lunch with the girls and L is off for beers and food with the boyfriends/husbands. We head to Cosy Club where I have my current favourite a vegetarian brunch/all day breakfast. I’m only drinking water today so my bill’s only £10 and I pay in some birthday month cash. We have a late lunch around 3pm so on my way home I grab chocolate buttons, Smarties and some fruit from Tesco for an evening snack in front of Ant & Dec – £3.20.

Sunday
Nothing too crazy today but we definitely need to do a big shop so we head to Tesco. £52.40 for our weekly shop, I’m planning sausage casserole, aubergine pesto pasta and a curry night.

There’s a pretty average week in my life at the moment, pretty chill with a little bit of takeaway and eating out! Let me know your favourite meal planning dishes for my next menu.
