Eesh. I know. 99% of the time breakouts are the devil. They’re the one thing that you do NOT want to happen. But, recently, I’ve come to a little realisation that sometimes they can be a good thing. Breakouts are basically a clear out of all the junk under your skin which is gross, but it can leave you with the glowiest of glowing skin when everything’s cleared up.
The Cleansing Game Changer
When the new La Roche-Posay Make-Up Remover Micellar Water Gel popped through my letter box the other day, I didn’t really get it. It’s a micellar water but it’s a gel. You apply it to wet skin but you don’t rinse it off. I was confused straight away – the only thing to do was to try it out immediately! I love washing my face at the end of the day if my skin is behaving. If I’m having a bit of a bad time with my skin, taking my makeup off definitely isn’t my favourite time of the day but usually, if it’s behaving, I really enjoy the feeling of a freshly cleansed and moisturised face.
Current Beauty Base Favourites
A little beauty post for us all today! I’ve got a few products that I seem to be reaching for on rotation at the moment to get a base I’m really enjoying wearing. Kicking off with the Smashbox Photo Finish Pore-Minimizing Primer and the Benefit Stay Don’t Stay Eyeshadow & Concealer Primer as a base. I find that I always need a eye-corrector like this primer to get rid of any darkness, redness and discolouration. Even if I’m not wearing eyeshadow I’ll use this primer to smooth everything out.
First Impressions of La Roche Posay Effaclar K+
I was lucky enough to pick up the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K+ Daily Moisturiser from a beauty box we received at work, occasionally we get some pretty great freebies so I nabbed this as soon as we opened the box. I love La Roche-Posay as a brand and am a big fan of their Effaclar serum so I was excited to try this moisturiser version.
