Gift buying can often be tricky. Whether you are buying for a significant other, family member or friend, it can be tricky to find a present that they not only love but is also meaningful.
Finding and giving a gift should be an enjoyable process. Giving someone a gift is an opportunity to surprise someone with something that hopefully they will keep for a lifetime.

One thing’s for certain, we’ve all had to switch and jiggle the way we do special events and celebrations over the past year. Last Mother’s Day was just before major lockdown 1 and we managed to get out for a nice big walk (before even that became illegal) with L’s mum. My mum, on the other hand lives 160 miles away and I’ve only seen her once in the past year, which massively sucks so it’s been all about the postman delivering her each and every treat, card and birthday surprise.
After we dipped our toe in the Christmas shopping pool with my Under £10 Beauty Stocking Fillers I thought it was time to go big or go home with a huge, and I mean, massive, Christmas gift guide. With something for everyone!

What do you get the person with everything for Christmas? Or, the person that you don’t really know to their *very* core what would be perfect for them, but you want to make smile? Long winded but a true problem… This is an age old festive problem and I have a few little ideas that could help those last minute gifting problems and they’re all a little bit of luxury to pop into your loved one’s life.
Christmas is definitely coming to my house… We’re whipping up the actual Christmas dinner this year (eek!) and I’ve wanted to make the house feel really Christmassy and the table super glam and festive without being a Christmas cliche. Enter, Next and their amazing circular pom pom trimmed placemats. They look awesome against a bit of kitsch tinsel and some snazzy matching beer bottles with some stand out branding. Yellow is definitely a fresh colour to give to Christmas, I think it’s quite unusual but works really well with gold which is obviously a classic.
This Christmas I’m trying to buy as many presents as I can from local and independent sellers as opposed to the mega-big retailers that I usually buy from. I want to buy more thoughtful and good quality items. And, I think it’s so great to make an independent seller happy by giving them a sale. And, more often than not their products are so awesome and not something you’d usually find on the high street.
With Christmas on the horizon, pennies are definitely tight for everyone. Even though we know it comes on the same day every year, it’s still a big expense! I think it’s impossible to properly budget for Christmas because you just don’t know what’s going to pop up and need paying for. That being said, DIY gifts are a great way to cut costs over the festive period. They’re also fun to make and will definitely make your friends and family smile.
