AD – Gifted Products from Ornatus
I’m introducing our new living room to you guys today in a little ad with a gifted product from rug company Ornatus. You know how much I love interiors content on this blog, it’s one of my most popular topics and buying a new house just means a whole new interiors journey.
If you read my blog or follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I like fashion, I’m a little bit beauty obsessed and food is up there in the top five loves of my life. But – interiors and styling up my home is my one true love!
Ever since we bought our first ‘proper’ home just over a year ago it’s been full steam ahead to make this little Victoria terrace our dream place to live. After almost 5 years of renting and looking after other people’s magnolia or white-washed walls it was time for us to release our personality into our home life. Although I think our rooms are pretty funky – they have their own themes as you walk through the house, I think I’ve created a basis of timeless style that can grow and develop with us as a couple and in the future, a family.
A year after moving into our house, our kitchen is ready to be seen by the internet! When we moved in we were dealing with a really dated kitchen, matching floor and cupboards in the same wood, a grotty sink I won’t even show you because it was so stained and broken tiles with painted wallpaper. Add on about a million wall plugs which didn’t need to be there and an 80s back door and we had the start of our project.
There are so many things I love when it comes to interiors, decor and home ware in general. One of the things that tends to catch my eye the most though is flooring, which I believe is the very foundation to any house (literally!). Flooring can set the tone for a whole room, when paired with different furnishings it can bring so many features out to play. With that in mind I have decided to chat about a couple of my fave floors with you, some old, some new but all just lovely!
There could have a lot of DIY ideas and projects you will have outstanding. It always seems like there’s something that needs to be sorted out, especially in my house. And that means that there’s often not a lot of time for getting all of it done. So, prioritizing is the best way to make sure you can get the necessary work done when the weekend arrives.
So, our new house is all you’ll hear me talking about at the moment but sorry, not sorry! So exciting. Anyway, a new house wouldn’t be complete without a little wish list would it? I’m dying to get a DAB digital radio, preferably a beautiful retro/vintage looking one like the Roberts radios in the pretty pastel colours. Next up, pretty plates are always a must for when people come over for tea of course and these Cath Kidston ones are just perfectly pretty. I’ve also got some CK towels in the mix there, I’m loving polka dots at the moment. On the china/crockery note, Luke needs an L mug because I’ve got an A one and it’s my favourite!
This is the little place that is going to be keeping up so busy for the next few weeks, perhaps months! It’s a lovely little terrace but it needs some serious TLC. We’re talking full on paint job and a lot of filler. So I’m hoping to do a few before, during and after photos for a little interiors series! Here’s a pic heavy post of the damage that needs repairing, ha! But we hope to have it up and running really soon and turn it into our beautiful first home.
