5 great places to eat and drink in York

There are hundreds of amazing places to eat in York city centre, from cute little teashops to fancy wine bars and loads of your favourite chains like Byron Burger and Nando’s but these are the five places that we really loved when we visited the Northern city recently.

1. Drift-In

One of the cutest cafes in York is Drift-In, a smoothie bar and coffee shop with incredible sandwiches that’s actually attached to Fat Face. The decor is really cool, full of surf boards and bikes with a proper beachy feel whilst still feeling like it really fits well into the windy streets of York. The staff were lovely and it’s a great place to chill out and grab some lunch on a busy weekend. Read More

Judges’ Court Hotel Review: York

Today’s post is a little feature and a review for the Judges’ Court Hotel in York – this stay wasn’t gifted, we paid for it ourselves but I always think it’s useful to read reviews of hotels in mini-break locations because I’m never sure about Tripadvisor if I’m honest (too many conflicting views!). I just like to add reviews into the mix and let you know whether I’d pay to stay there again. We headed to York to see James Acaster because we couldn’t get tickets in Nottingham where we live and so decided to just make it a long Bank Holiday weekend mini-break because we’d only been to York on a very cold afternoon once together and then years ago as kids separately so we wanted to explore it some more.
