Recently we headed to Whitby for a couple of days of sea air, fish and chips and checking out Dracula’s hang outs.
The food in Whitby is absolutely lovely, you pretty much can’t go wrong anywhere that you go but we definitely had some favourites that we visited across the three days that we were there that I wanted to share!
Well it’s been a couple of weeks! Needed a break from blogging, I’ve still been busy on Instagram but I’ve been plotting some cute new content for the coming months and I’ve taken a bit of a summer hiatus to get my mojo back. We recently had an amazing couple of days in North Yorkshire and I wanted to share some of the fun stuff we got up to as well as the amazing place that we stayed.
There are hundreds of amazing places to eat in York city centre, from cute little teashops to fancy wine bars and loads of your favourite chains like Byron Burger and Nando’s but these are the five places that we really loved when we visited the Northern city recently.
1. Drift-In
One of the cutest cafes in York is Drift-In, a smoothie bar and coffee shop with incredible sandwiches that’s actually attached to Fat Face. The decor is really cool, full of surf boards and bikes with a proper beachy feel whilst still feeling like it really fits well into the windy streets of York. The staff were lovely and it’s a great place to chill out and grab some lunch on a busy weekend.
Today’s post is a little feature and a review for the Judges’ Court Hotel in York – this stay wasn’t gifted, we paid for it ourselves but I always think it’s useful to read reviews of hotels in mini-break locations because I’m never sure about Tripadvisor if I’m honest (too many conflicting views!). I just like to add reviews into the mix and let you know whether I’d pay to stay there again. We headed to York to see James Acaster because we couldn’t get tickets in Nottingham where we live and so decided to just make it a long Bank Holiday weekend mini-break because we’d only been to York on a very cold afternoon once together and then years ago as kids separately so we wanted to explore it some more.
Amongst the city walls and history there are so many things to fill your time with in this lovely Northern city but these are some of my top things to do in York. We were there for 48 hours and we didn’t get all of these things in but we did most of them and spotted the others along the way!
1. York Minster
Luke and I have been together a year last weekend and we took the opportunity to vist an amazing hotel in Yorkshire called the Ox Pasture Hall Hotel, a few miles outside of Scarborough. We decided to really celebrate in style as we’ve been through a lot together in such a short time and felt like we deserved a treat!
