NEW Jamie’s Italian Super Lunch Menu

What better way to spend Bank Holiday Monday than with your favourite people eating some awesome food? That’s exactly how we spent our bonus day off at Jamie’s Italian Nottingham! They have a crazy good value new Super Lunch offer on at the moment which is £10.95 for two courses or a ridiculous £12.95 for three courses. An absolute steal for some seriously tasty food.

As it was quite early in the afternoon we didn’t quite fancy a cocktail so we all went for one of their tasty mocktails. I tried the Ginger Mojito which was amazing, it tasted like holidays – loads of lime, mint, sugar and topped off with ginger beer.

We had to have starters, they’re my favourite part of eating out. If there’s anything squid or prawn based then I am straight in there. I had the Fritto Misto, chunky bits of white fish and squid in crispy batter with the most garlicky aioli ever, it was amazing. I could happily eat this for every course! Luke tried the Truffle Tagliatelle which is a cute portion of pasta, perfect for a starter. You wouldn’t want it any bigger as it was lovely and rich but he said it was a great size.

We took Luke’s parents out with us as to treat them as they do a lot for us! They tried the Pate Bruschetta and the Spring Ribollita soup and both said they were super yummy. I loved how both the dishes were presented, it’s so nice how each starter isn’t on the same plates and they all seem to have their own personality.

On to our main courses and I went for the Superfood Salad that, from the menu consists of roasted beetroot, pulses and grains, pomegranate seeds, sprouting broccoli all topped off with avocado filled with cottage cheese and a spicy harissa dressing. Mine actually was missing the beetroot, broccoli and pomegranate seeds but I wasn’t informed that it was going to arrive without them and only realised half way through eating it as I checked the menu again. Apart from missing half the ingredients, the salad was really yummy but I think it definitely lacked something in terms of the fresh taste the pomegranate seeds would have brought to the dish and flavour of the beets would have gone really well.

Here’s a snap from the Jamie’s Italian Twitter page that shows what the salad is meant to look like! The staff were great about it and took it off the bill but I still felt a bit cheated out of my broccoli if I’m honest.

Everyone else got stuck into the Brioche Club Sandwich which looked really, really good. The pancetta, chicken and cheese all looked amazing and everyone said it was delicious. The only thing with the items like this on the Super Lunch menu is that they don’t come with chips or even a side salad so we had to order extra fries. You can’t just have a burger without chips, can you? The Funky Chips on

The Funky Chips on the Jamie’s menu are really tasty but for around £3.50 you only actually get about 7-8 chips and it’s pretty stingey to say the least. This was a bit annoying as you go into the restaurant thinking you’re getting a bargain lunch and then you have to spend an extra £3.50 on chips that aren’t really worth it just to pack your meal out. We did say something again about this and the staff were great and brought us a complimentary portion of Funky Chips which was really appreciated. I definitely think that a handful of fries should be included with the Club Sandwich.

We topped everything off with a couple of puddings because at £12.95 for three courses, you can’t say no to a little sugar, right? This is the Epic Brownie and it really looked amazing and by the state of the plate when it was finished with I know it was epic, to say the least. Luke and I tried the Frozen Yoghurt with Strawberries which was a nice fresh way to round off a meal. Plus, it’s under 150 calories so if you’re watching what you eat it’s a great way to have dessert and not feel like the odd one out at the table.

The whole Jamie’s experience was a little bit hectic as it was a really busy Bank Holiday Monday but the staff were great and the food was really good quality. All I’d say is that I wouldn’t order the Club Sandwich or anything else on the Super Lunch menu if I wanted a side dish because it doesn’t actually work out to be as much of a bargain as you once thought. They also have an evening menu which I think is £18.95 for three courses which is also a great deal. Massive thanks to Jamie’s in Nottingham for having us, we had a fab afternoon.
