Bedroom Decor: How To Incorporate Skulls

Skulls are probably one of my favourite things to incorporate into decor, from brightly coloured sugar skulls to your standard boney-faced guys. They can look really cool, rock n roll and dark and they don’t have to look like you’ve not left your 14-year-old goth stage. Skulls can look super luxe if you use them in the right way.

I’ve pinned a load of inspiration onto my Interior Design & Decor board on Pinterest if you fancy taking a look and I’ve included a few of my favourite rooms and decor accents in this post. To compliment skulls when used in a bedroom you definitely need to go for a luxe, rock n roll look with plush texture like faux fur and deep colours like navy, grey and black. Cream can lighten up a room if you don’t want your room to be too dark.

Skull accessories always look cool if you don’t want to go the full hog and mount a print onto your wall. Glass bottles, vases, planters and dishes all make great touches to a skull theme. Even cushions can add something extra but I think it can be easy for these to look a bit naff so I’d stick to plain textured bed linen and cushions and stick to more solid skull accessories.

We chose this multicoloured skull print from Posterlounge to give our room another skull element as we already had our shiny pewter skull money box from Urban Outfitters that just acts as an ornament on our dresser. The plan is to add some darker elements to the room but this new print is a first step towards our rock n roll bedroom!
