6 Apps To Make Your Life Easier

Sometimes, we could all benefit from having a second brain or even complete clone of ourselves, right? I know I could. From the life admin appointments to cooking that healthy dinner to writing a proposal for work, we could use all of the help we can get in keeping life organised and simple. These apps promise to take the guesswork out of most of our daily trials and tribulations, in order to make life run a little more smoothly and I definitely think there’s no shame in using technology to try and get your shit together!

1. MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal aims to make being healthy a little simpler. The all-in-one app will track calories, exercise, weight and offers suggestions and reminders to stay on track. The app will remember your commonly used foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and you can custom enter in your favourite recipes. This app is the perfect solution to maintaining a healthy family throughout the year. You’ll know I use this in my day to day life if I’m tracking my food and I find it super helpful.

2. UK Roads

You’re visiting the in-laws in another city but need to be home in time for dinner (well, Dinner Date on ITVBe)? Check out your route via UK Roads before leaving to take the guesswork out of any road closures, construction or other traffic-related problems. Listen to live traffic updates, and receive notifications for any traffic occurrences on your planned trip. This app will inform you of another route if something occurs after you’ve left the house. Simples!

3. Evernote

Perhaps the most commonly known app, Evernote is an organisational dream that compiles tasks, notes, ideas, timelines, and photos and organises them beautifully across all of your devices. Stressing about that work presentation and find yourself thinking of more ideas as you are heading to bed? Pop them into Evernote on your phone and they will be on your work desktop tomorrow.

4. Hungry House

It’ss happened again – a late night at work + no motivation to cook = takeaway. Luckily, Hungry House has you covered: with thousands of local restaurants and several cuisine types to choose from, you will get a hot meal to the dinner table in no time. Hungry House will also remember your favourite restaurants and meals for a quick and easy re-order. Yaaas food!

5. Ocado

A grocery store at your fingertips, Ocado allows the user to order groceries to be delivered to your door.  For anyone with kids or boyfriends, a trip to the supermarket can quickly turn into a 2-hour fiasco – Ocado saves you precious time and tears (from both parties). It will remember commonly purchased items for a quick and painless transaction because let’s face it, even though we do it every week we don’t actually know what we buy when it comes to making a list!

6. Splittable

I’ve only just discovered this amazing app and I’m telling almost everyone about it! This is an app that’s great if you live with someone and share things like food shopping and bills. You set it up with however many people are in your house and then whenever you pay for something that’s a shared item, for example, milk, you input it into the app and it notifies everyone else. You can keep tabs on who owes who what money and there are no arguments. It’s awesome!
