Let’s be honest, the hiking boot trend has been completely overhauled this past few weeks by the gorgeous Holly Willoughby just chilling in her Grensons in the I’m A Celeb jungle. But, we can’t all afford £250 boots just because they look cute, can we? Definitely not in my case so the fabulous Ego Shoes have come to the rescue with some absolute beauties. These are the Kris chunky boots and they are unbelievably comfortable. They are also under £60 which is a bargain for a sturdy pair of boots and definitely awesome for a trend led piece. Plus, they always have awesome discounts on site and you can grab student discount too if you’re lucky to be that young!
Ego kindly gifted me a pair of boots of my choice to style up and as I’ve been loving this style for a while I’ve been dream-outfitting already. I wore them for a full day of stomping around town and general errands and they were super cosy, warm and really comfortable. Stick with your normal size with these guys as I think they’re true to size. I’m a 5.5 usually for trainers and got a size 6 – my normal size in boots. I wear a lot of black in the winter so I went for the black faux leather version of Kris with the pop of yellow laces. They also had a pair with red laces which were equally cool and all kinds of festive.
I paired my new boots and (2 pairs of) tights with my faded black ASOS denim pinafore, stripe Cos long sleeved tee, plain black ribbed Primark beanie from last year and another gem from last winter, my F&F Clothing (yep, Tesco!) aviator jacket. Probably my best buy of 2017, not gonna lie, I’ve worn this so much and think it works perfectly with the Ego boots. Everything is old in this outfit apart from my Boots. I’ve really been trying to wear my wardrobe and feel like I’m actually finding gems I’d forgotten about – this pinafore included.
The boots are also available in grey faux suede – cute but I don’t think are very rainy England appropriate unfortunately. I also love the nude faux snakeskin with the yellow and green laces, these are super cool as well as the animal print theme being continued with the patent leopard print. Finally, the mock croc are patent and super sassy if you like the faux leather in black but need a little something extra.
