There’s something about going ‘out out’ in sequin dresses or something sparkly which just takes the fun level on a night out up a notch. What is it about sparkles that makes us happy?

But, I’m here to deliver the lovely news that I think sequins are back in a big way and it’s time to dig out those sparklers from storage. Or, if you’ve never owned anything sequinned in your life – it’s time to invest in something stunning. Here are my top three picks for summer sequins that will last throughout the year. Perfect for festivals with a cute white t-shirt underneath and a khaki jacket and also amazing for nights out and date nights. First up is this lovely Topshop metallic foil baby pink dress – not necessarily sequins but it is very shimmery and is a really flattering shade of peachy pink. Finally, the Topshop sequin cowl neck dress is a Nineties classic shape and isn’t too festive feeling for the summer but wouldn’t look out of place at your work Christmas party.

This trend also goes perfectly with the whole sustainable style thing because you know sequins will come back around in a few years, you know you’ll want something sparkly for Christmas or New Year’s Eve and you know it’s totally on trend for now which is an absolute winning situation. So, if you’ve been having a wardrobe purge recently and you’ve almost hit ‘list’ on the button on eBay to get rid of that sparkly skirt or Nineties style cowl neck dress – don’t!
