When you’re planning your wedding day, you have this idea in your mind that it will be a day you’ll never forget for all the right reasons and here are four ways to really make that happen.
1. Start your planning well in advance
Time runs away from you, days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months! Where possible, get as much done as you can before the event gets underway. Plan as much as you can as soon as you can and make yourself a list of things to do each month.
When it comes to the day, make sure you’re not leaving little things to last that could stress you out. If you have bridesmaid gifts, wrap and tag them so that they’re ready to open on the day itself. If you can make food in advance, do so the night before and store it in the fridge so you’re not trying to ice a cupcake in your wedding dress. Make sure that you do all your table dressing, and you are ready to go the moment the wedding gets underway – or even better make sure that you have someone to do this for you. Speak with all your key people to ensure that they know where they need to be and when.
2. Delegate your plans
It might be your wedding day, but you don’t have to manage the entire thing yourself. All you need to do is set out what you’d like to happen and then delegate people you trust to carry out your orders. While weddings might seem like complicated events, most people can do a good job of organising them. You could have a master of ceremonies who works with all your suppliers to orchestrate a collective response if you really wanted to. You want them to be in communication with everyone, ensuring that things happen as and when they should.
3. Inject A Little Fun
Wedding days aren’t just solemn declarations of love and commitment. They’re also a chance for you and your guests to have fun. Booths By Lux, for instance, recommends that you hire out photo booths. These are tools that guests can use to capture all their silly poses and make funny faces. There are other ways you can inject a bit of fun into proceedings, you can also organise games, especially if you have a lot of kids in attendance.
4. Definitely have cocktails
Some parts of the wedding can be a little slow for your guests as they wait for the photographer to take all of the official photos of you and your bae. So, do what you can to help them feel loved while you’re not there. Plenty of cocktails and snacks should help!
