5 Winter Trends for 2020/1

Whilst many people may be dreading more months of dull and dreary weather, there is one thing to look forward to once winter descends – the style.

Most people love nothing better than putting on a thick wool jumper, wearing their favourite parka and pair of biker boots. I know I do, but if you fancy something different, check out five of the top winter trends here.

1. Punk

It is time to release your punky side. We are going back in time to the era of shiny leather and studded belts. You can certainly show who is boss by adding a bit of punk to your outfit. The key is to not worry about matching patterns and colours. This style is one that is very raw and ready.

2. Pencil skirt and oversized jumper combination

This is one combo that we are already starting to see worn by all of our fave Pinterest babes. It is the perfect blend of formal meets casual. Team your fitted office pencil skirt with a cute oversized jumper. Finish the look with a pair of stilettos, one of these Balenciaga bags, (or a highstreet alternative!) and a high bun for a stylish edge.

3. Pink

The colour of autumn/winter 2020 is undoubtedly pink. This is not always a colour we would associate with such months. Most people’s minds would have cast to the bright magentas and fuchsias and neon pinks we see throughout the summer. However, imagine those delightful pink and dusty shades. These are ideal for a winter wonderland style and thus aptly suit the months ahead.

4. Tartan

Tartan was a regular on the 2020 runways. You should definitely invest in a tartan garment for the colder months ahead. From tartan shift dresses to leggings; the choices are endless. It is up to you whether you go for a heavy dose of the pattern or you keep it subtle. The pattern in itself is quite bold and strong and thus people often feel like they are out of their depth when trying to wear it. Yet you shouldn’t worry about this as you can play towards your own style.

5. Oversized outwear

This is the perfect trend for winter. When you go to purchase your winter coat for the coming season think big. Not only does this look have a real catwalk edge, but it is extremely comfortable too. Thus, you will look great and you will undoubtedly feel even better.

These five trends are undoubtedly going to run riot over the remaining winter period. And don’t forget; you can stay warm and feel comfy without having to compromise on your A* style.
