It’s been a long, long while since I posted an old school beauty favourites but I had some items that I’ve been reaching for time and time again when I’m getting ready and they’ve been really helping get that Victoria’s Secret glow that, I don’t know about you, but I live for.
Whilst I’ll still most likely be found in loungewear like this super-comfy iKrush sweatshirt from day to day I have been making the effort to do a little bit of makeup to wake up my face and basically use it. We might not be going out *much* yet (but we’re definitely getting there!) I don’t want all of my lovely makeup to just sit there and go off do I?
For reference, this is the Dulcie Basic Sweatshirt in Black from their tops selection and it feels super thick and good quality. They also gave me a promo code alongside this gifted item which is ALLIEMR10 for 10% off in case anyone fancies a browse and a little retail therapy.
Back to my beauty favourites, these are four makeup items that work beautifully together in one easy face paired with some mascara, lip balm and brow pencil. Within five minutes I can go from sleepy to wide awake and ready for the day using these products.
Firstly is the
Beautypie Superluminous Undereye Genius – this works so well when it’s blended in with my foundation or if I’m wearing tan on my face as it’s a little dark for me at the moment but summer is coming and I have faith we’ll get there! I bought this shade though as I have brown-ish dark circles as opposed to blue-ish ones and this was the shade that Beautypie recommends. It’s kind of a corrector and a hydrator in one which smooths fine lines and includes Vitamin E. Beautypie say to “layer it OVER your eye cream and UNDER a skin-tone matching concealer for all-day-long energized eyes” which is what I do and it balances out amazingly and gives a bright eyed look.
If I’m wearing more makeup than just concealer and a little powder I pop on the Chanel Super Active Complete Complexion CC Cream* which is really hydrating and sometimes I find this kind of base much easier to pop on in a hurry than a proper foundation that will need attention and blending, this is just really easy to use and brightens the face and covers all your sins without that super matte foundation face which can be a bit much day to day.

I’ll pop on a bit of powder and then use the
Chanel Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream* as my bronzer to warm up my face on top. Closely followed by the newest and by far my favourite new addition – the
Beautypie Super Cheek Powder Blush in Plumminess. This blusher looks pretty dark in the compact but once applied and blended it gives a really amazing warmth and lift to the face giving that ultimate VS Angel look. It’s much darker than my previous blusher and I think works so much better for my skin tone as I can go quite olive-y with a tan and of course, am a fake-tanner at heart too.
There we go a super old-school beauty blogger vibe post with four of my fave makeup products at the moment, I’ve been using the Chanel ones for months and they really are so nice and are perfect treat yourself moments when you save up all your Boots points or amazing gifts to ask for. The Beautypie bits were my last buys before I cancelled my subscription to them for a little while as I know how long products like blusher last me, I won’t be needing to repurchase any time soon so I’ll go back to BP if I need to in the future!
