We’ve had a snippet of summer recently and it’s got me very excited for some sunshine as I’m sure it has for you guys too. Summer means barbecues, cute white tops, making a bee line for the beer garden after work and of course, upgrading your sunglasses collection. I headed down to Loxley for a lovely bloggers event last week to check out their new sunglasses launch, catch up with some lovely people and meet some new blogger babes too.
You guys might have seen some fun times I was having at the beginning of March with McArthurGlen Designer Outlets on a little video shoot and some Spring Summer trend picks. I was working with some awesome other bloggers from the other regions where McArthurGlen have their shopping outlets – I was repping for East Midlands in case you hadn’t guessed.
I’m sure we were all hoping for florals, cute striped trousers and light jackets by the middle of March but the Beast from The East is havin’ none of that – am I right? So, we need a few cute ideas to jazz up outfits now that we’re having to still rock knitwear and thermal leggings under your jeans.
What does workwear mean to you? I mean, when I was little I always thought you had to either wear a uniform or a suit when you ‘got a job’ and obviously we know this isn’t true!
Workwear is only something that I’ve started to really think about now that I’ve moved to a slightly more professional office. Not gonna lie, I used to wear dungarees when I worked at UNiDAYS and it was totally normal. Now, I have a lot more client meetings and I don’t feel as productive if I’m not wearing what I class as my ‘workwear’. I feel like I’ve said ‘workwear’ way too many times now but let’s just roll with it shall we. I have three staples when it comes to getting dressed for the office and I wanted to share a little inspiration with you babes just in case you fancy a workwear wardrobe update!
You all know how much I’ve been obsessed with this aviator jacket this winter and I’m looking for a new spring time version to fill the void! Here are 9 of my favourite jackets on the market right now, the high street has so many awesome jackets, coats and denim delights so… enjoy!
It’s my 25th birthday tomorrow and that sounds super old. I know it’s not really but you always say when you’re little “When I’m 25 I’ll have blah…” so it sounds like a serious age! I think anything from 20-24 sounds quite young still but when you hit 25 it’s BAM you’re on the way to thirty now babe, sort your life out. Here are 25 good things that I’m loving from the past year / things that I’ve learnt over the years. 25 is an age where you should *probably* have your shit together and I almost feel like I do!
Without it even being Valentine’s Day pink and red have been all over the high street recently! I for one am loving this combination that used to be a total fashion faux pas. Remember the days when pink and red should never have been seen together? Well, no more.
Basically, these days if you’re not wearing pink and red together, who are you? I posted this super cute Primark sweatshirt on my Instagram the other day (£5 might I add) which is baby pink with “Love Will Save Us” written on the front and it inspired me to seek out some other cute bargain-ous pieces from the great British high street. Everything is frilly, statement or textured and I love all of these piece. I hope you like ’em!
This winter has seemed to go on for ever, right? I feel like hardly a day’s gone past when I’ve not worn my aviator jacket because it’s just possibly the warmest thing that I’ve bought this season.
I wanted to change things up and *try* to wear a different coat for once so this Primark borg teddy coat came into play! It’s so cute, surprisingly warm and I think it was only £20. I don’t think it’s available in stores anymore because like the psychos that the fashion industry are, the spring stuff is already out! There’s a similar piece here from New Look on ASOS which is also amazing so if you’re still in the market for a teddy coat there’s definitely some out there on the high street.
Jewellery is one of those areas that I think us girls fall into a few different camps with. Either, they LOVE jewellery and it’s all they want for Christmas, Valentine’s Day and birthdays or, like me, gals that have a few cool and random pieces that are basically ‘costume’ jewellery (I hate that saying though!) and don’t have too much meaning. I’ve just never really been attached to jewellery and I don’t really like receiving it as a gift because I’m quite particular in what I like.
Two things that I’ve been loving recently: the whole 10 series of Friends now being on Netflix and wearing tea dresses layered over roll necks. But seriously, who else has totally binged watched Friends this month? Life changing.
This cute dress trend caught my eye a few months ago when it sprung up but I honestly couldn’t find any that weren’t too short or too low-cut for my preference in the summer and autumn months when they were most prominent. I just don’t have the confidence to be all out when I’m not on holiday or in beach wear! I always find that I think I can’t wear a specific trend or style until I find my way of styling it up or the right piece.
