A bit of a rambly post today, all about blogging and the world of influencers! At the moment, it feels like everyone is a blogger and also, at the same time, everyone is making it seriously big! These girls are giving up their jobs to be their own bosses, travel the world and absolutely smash it. I love following these girls, I love blogging and I (obviously) love paid jobs with brands I love but, would I want to do it full time?
It’s official, say goodbye to your trusty skinny jeans (sob!) and welcome the old favourite straight leg denim back into your life. Straight leg jeans are the epitome of relaxed style, coming in and out of trends as time rolls on – but its official, they are back on trend for 2017.
Getting the right fit is vital. Make sure they’re slim, but not tight like skinnies. With a clean-cut but casual look, they look great with sweaters or relaxed tees. They are great for perfecting the chilled-out style. Whilst choosing the right top to match with your jeans is pretty easy – shoes however, can be tricky. They can make or break an outfit, so choose wisely when finishing off your outfit. Here are some of my favourite choices…
Nude heels are something that I’ve always wanted to add to my wardrobe but I’d never really had the occasion or found the perfect pair! Until 4th & Reckless got it touch with the chance for me to try one of their pairs of shoesies and I chose the pretty, simple and minimal Jasmine Basic Single Strap Nude Stilettos.
Super babe blogger and fashion queen Olivia Palermo was spotted at London Fashion Week this weekend wearing PORTS 1961 pre-spring 2017 shirt as part of this amazing outfit so I thought I’d whip up a quick get the look to show you how to get her look for a lot less cash!
First up, head to ASOS and pick up any of their amazing oversized white shirts, I love this Wood Wood Frankie Shirt with Striped Arms which is only £56.00 in the sale, it’s arm detail is really interesting and creates a cool accent to the outfit. Also from ASOS are these killer Public Desire Burgundy Shoes at only £29.99. Topshop saves the day as usual with these two statement pieces, firstly the Moto Fringe Hem Jeans for £42.00, I have a feeling she might actually be wearing these exact jeans and this Topshop Light Khaki Canvas Jacket, £40.00, is a great dupe for her casual jacket.
Personal style is one of those things I like to think I’ve had all my life. From my beloved emo stage to where I am today I think I’ve always had my own sense of style. I’m happy that I’m never going to be a cookie-cutter Instagram-famous Missguided-wearing (OK, I have some pieces from Missguided but you know the dresses I mean!) type of girl. I’m more likely going to be wearing something a little bit fun like a faux fur bag or trying my best to channel a minimalist Scandi look than a bodycon dress, sky high heels or the latest slogan t-shirt.
There’s a definite theme with a few pieces I’ve had my eye on recently and I thought I’d pop them together for a little birthday wishlist as it’s next month but I’ll probably end up buying a couple of bits myself after my birthday as a treat as I don’t expect the amazing Whistles Vacation Sweatshirt as a gift, hello pricey! I’m waiting for a 25% off Grazia code to come my way or something equally lifesaving.
A lot of people think that the relaxed bohemian style is only appropriate for summery festivals and picnics during the spring, but this is far from true. There are plenty of ways that you can get that cool, chic style to work for you when the temperatures have dropped, and hopefully, today’s post should point you in the right direction.
It’s not often that I write favourites posts but every few months I find a few things that I find myself really liking and it’s always good to mix up the content on here! Here are 6 (mostly skincare and beauty but with a fashion fave) products that have been giving me life in December!
1. Time For Tea?
Winter is well and truly here and it’s time to get snuggly. One of my latest loves is this Black & Grey Colourblock Cape from Mint Velvet. I love this piece because you can easily just wear it as a huge scarf or a wrap around your shoulders as well as wear it like the cape it’s designed to be (it’s got arm holes!). It’s really versatile.
This ASOS Parka has been glued to my back ever since the temperatures dropped because it’s so cosy and surprisingly warm when it’s all buttoned up and you’ve got a scarf on and the hood up! Cosy as anything. You can usually find me in a Breton top, this New Look Striped Top, (similar here) was a bargain a few months ago at under a tenner and I’ve had so much wear out of it. I just love a classic striped top because they always go great with skinny jeans. My skinnies of choice at the moment are the Topshop Black Jamie Jeans. Finally, these Deichmann Loafers have made their way into my winter wardrobe. I’m usually a trainers girl through and through but occasionally it’s nice to wear an actual pair of shoes!
