Lockdown Money Diary

Disclaimer: Featured image 100% not representative of how I’ve looked this week FYI!

I planned to do a money diary a lot earlier into the lockdown drama but I wasn’t really spending much and honestly didn’t really know what I was going to say. Now we’ve just reach the end of week 6 and I decided at the beginning of this week to get my act together and do a money diary because I don’t really have much else going on in the way of content and I know these posts usually go down quite well! Bedroom Makeover Part 2

What do you do during lockdown to keep yourself occupied? It has to be a project, right? We decided to redecorate our bedroom as it’s something that we fancied doing for a little while after some recent inspiration from a boutique hotel stay. We picked up all of our paint and goodies right before we went into proper lockdown and then decided to tackle our decorating over a couple of weekends. Read More

5 little things making me happy

This is the first blog post I’ve written since our lives all changed quite a lot. When we wrote about the Rev’s brunch town was still quite a normal amount of busy and restaurants, bars and cafes were all still open so life seemed fairly normal.

Since then, we’ve gone into lockdown and essentially our homes are where we’re going to spend the majority of our time, like the serious majority. I’m leaving the house (via the front door) for as long as my daily exercise is taking me, around 30- 45 minutes! This is totally weird as I was used to leaving the house at around 8am and getting back at just after 7pm most days when I was at work in my office, heading to Reformer Pilates or a gym class after work and getting the bus twice a day. The Hoxton, Holborn Review

This weekend we stayed at The Hoxton in Holborn and it really was lovely so I wanted to do a little review because I was so impressed.

We paid for this trip, it wasn’t gifted in any way. I mentioned it was for my birthday on the booking section on Hotels.com and the team left us a small bottle of wine in the room with a note saying happy birthday which was so nice. They also had a lovely little map, magazines and nice guides of the area too to read through. Read More

4 of the best high street wedding dresses

If a budget wedding is on the cards, as it is for us, everything you buy is scrutinised with the “do we really need this?” question. It’s not about being ‘stingy’ it’s about only getting what you really want and need out of your big day. For me, the dress and what I wear is important, of course, but it’s not the be all and end all of my day. I haven’t been dreaming of a wedding and a big white dress since I was a little girl. I’ve dreamt of a happy family since I was a little girl and that’s what our wedding day is all about for me. Read More
