4 Steps Ensure You’re As Healthy As You Think

Our health is important as it can impact our lives in so many ways. A lot of us actively choose to lead healthy lifestyles; we exercise regularly and eat right. However, when it comes to being healthy, that isn’t always all it takes. Studies have shown that a lot of people who class themselves as ‘healthy’ aren’t as healthy as they think – shock -horror!

Sometimes this is because the foods we think as of being healthy are actually packed with processed ingredients. Or because our workouts aren’t doing as much for us as we thought they were. The good news is to ensure that you’re as healthy as you think you are, all it takes is a few simple steps.

Let’s delve into what these are and see whether we’re as healthy as we would like to think.

See Your GP For A Health Check

The first step to take is making an appointment to see your GP for a health check. The chances are that there’s nothing wrong with your body but it’s still worth getting a general check-up so that you can be sure. (It’s best to do this once a year.) Get your blood pressure checked, your BMI checked, and also a blood test check. This will ensure that any health problems are picked up.

Speak To A Nutritionist

Make an appointment at Chelsea Pharmacy or your local nutrition clinic to speak to a nutritionist. You might think that what you’re eating is right, but you could unintentionally be feeding your body with unhealthy foods. The best way to determine what constitutes as healthy is by speaking to a professional. They’ll be able to advise you about the best foods to eat, and what your body needs to be healthy. Believe it or not, everyone requires different things to stay in good shape.

Research Foods Before Tucking In

Always research a food before you buy it. A lot of foods masquerade as ‘healthy’ when actually they’re packed full of empty calories and processed ingredients. Nut butters are a prime example of this, many of them are packed full of all sorts of processed ingredients. That’s why, it’s always best to buy natural alternatives to brands like SunPat, such as Whole Earth Peanut Butter and Meridian branded. Another example is vegetable crisps. They taste amazing but don’t let the word ‘vegetable’ fool you; they’re just as unhealthy as traditional crisps and they’re definitely not as nice!

Book A PT Session

Even if you’re an exercising pro, it’s still worth booking a session with a personal trainer. You may not realise it, but you could be doing something very wrong when it comes to your exercise regime. Perhaps you’re missing a vital part of staying active, such as strength training, or maybe you’re not pushing yourself in the right way. A personal trainer can give you a workout plan that will allow you to keep your body healthy and in good shape.

So there you have it, the steps you need to take to ensure that you’re actually as healthy as you think.
