5 Autumnal New In Beauty Loves

October equals autumn and autumn equals new beauty essentials as far as I’m concerned. These are my five fresh autumnal products that have crept their way into my routine for this month. Spoiler alert, I already love quite a few of these so I might just re-use this as my October favourites but don’t tell my blog schedule… Read More

One Heck Of A Blot!

I love the names of all the Soap & Glory products, they’re always so imaginative and funny – they always draw me in! Recently, when Boots were running on of their 3 for 2 offers I picked up some S&G makeup products to try.

My usual foundation was running low so I needed a replacement. I usually like to try high-end bases and was going to get either the Charlotte Tilbury Magic or Dior’s Forever foundations but I wasn’t 100% sure which one to go for. I didn’t want to drop £30 on a foundation I wasn’t sure about so decided to try the One Heck of A Blot All-Day Foundation from Soap & Glory. So far, I’m quite impressed, it has good staying power and turns into powder from a liquid, which is really cool. I don’t think the shade range is very good, though, there’s only four and I chose Happy Medium and it’s a bit too orange but the lighter shade was definitely too light. When used with the One Heck of A Blot Instant Perfecting Power Primer they provide a long lasting base but the foundation definitely needs building up, the coverage isn’t at all what I was expecting. It’s really light so I needed at least two thin applications and concealer to achieve the coverage I wanted. Read More

Neutrogena Hydro Boost: The Review

Say hello to the new range from Neutrogena to hit the UK high street! It’s the No. 1 skincare product in the US from a 2015 Nielsen study and now we can get our hands on it. I’ve been trialling their new Hydro Boost range which is super lightweight yet delivers intense hydration and is absolutely perfect for summer. They say it leads to “skin so supple it bounces back!”. Having hydrated skin means you look healthier and younger because hydration maintains elasticity and flexibility in the skin. Read More

The Cleansing Game Changer

When the new La Roche-Posay Make-Up Remover Micellar Water Gel popped through my letter box the other day, I didn’t really get it. It’s a micellar water but it’s a gel. You apply it to wet skin but you don’t rinse it off. I was confused straight away – the only thing to do was to try it out immediately! I love washing my face at the end of the day if my skin is behaving. If I’m having a bit of a bad time with my skin, taking my makeup off definitely isn’t my favourite time of the day but usually, if it’s behaving, I really enjoy the feeling of a freshly cleansed and moisturised face. Unboxing #BootsBeautyBox: The Hair Edition

The #BootsBeautyBox is here again! This time, it’s a hair styling special and it’s a pretty exciting box.

First of all, I’m a huge Batiste fan, I’ve tried a lot of dry shampoos and I always go back to them purely because the price is great for the wicked job their dry shampoo does so I was excited to try the Batiste Stylist Oomph My Locks XXL Volume Spray. I’m a fan of texture and volumizing powders so I was interested in this product as occasionally I find I can be a little heavy handed with the powders and things can get messy! I like this spray as it’s easier to control than powders but I don’t think it lasts as long. It definitely adds serious texture though so I might just have to pop a little more in, I’m probably being too cautious! Read More

City Break Packing: London

We’re off to London soon to celebrate our two-year anniversary. We’ve got tickets for Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and are dying to eat at some of our most-liked places on Instagram. Top Dog Soho – we’re coming for you.

Here are a few essentials I’ll definitely be taking with me on our two-night stay. I like to pack ‘capsule wardrobe’ style pieces when I travel so I’ll be living in black skinny jeans and my dungarees. I can’t find mine to link to but these Dr Denim Skinny Dungarees available at ASOS are super similar. I’ll be pairing both of these staples with stripes and simple tees such as my new favourite Topshop Contrast Neck Stripe Top and Marks & Spencer Limited Edition Grey Tee. Read More
