Fake tan has been a part of my beauty regime for at least 6-7 years now, starting with the classic Johnson’s Holiday Skin and trying all of those tanning moisturisers out to getting my first spray tan for my year 11 prom! I naturally tan after a while of being in the sun but I’m definitely not one of those people who goes brown at the slightest drop of sunshine.
This is a brand I’ve seen in Boots before and I’ve been really interested in trying it because I think the branding is lovely, it’s quite sophisticated for a tanning brand and it’s nice to see that they haven’t gone for the classic yellow or orange bottle/packaging colour. It came in the lovely #BootsCamp box I received the other week. You can see why else I got here.
It’s called 2-3 week tan because apparently if you apply it 2-3 times continuously over a few days, showering in-between, your tan should last 2-3 weeks! I’ve only applied it once and it lasted about 6 days and it really did fade amazingly well. There were no patchy bits, flaky tan or anything it was really good from that perspective. When you first apply it, it’s of course really dark but after a shower the next morning, the colour is fab, not too orange and the perfect bronzy/brown colour.
One of the best things is the smell. There is hardly any! When you apply it, doesn’t smell like biscuit/bread or anything else gross like other tans do. It only starts to smell faintly of this in the morning, but after a shower, it’s all gone! I’ve found in the past that even after a shower I still smell like bread biscuits. Gross and it’s so telltale! People know you’ve been fake tanning when you stink like a bakery.
Another few good points about this tan are that it’s non-toxic and organic and it doesn’t feel sticky at all once it’s applied it dries instantly! Definitely my favourite fake tan now, it’s lovely! Top tan tips though: Always use a mitt AND a glove. When I applied this I had a glove on my left hand and a mitt for buffing on my right hand. I find that if you apply straight off with a mitt you lose a lot of product which, for a more pricey tan, is not what you want to do. I’ve not been applying the tan with my gloved hand, rub it in mainly and then buff it in with the mitt so it’s nice and smooth. Perfect fake tan, every time.
