I haven’t done one of these for a while so I thought I’d do an updated post on the contents of my makeup bag! I love reading these posts so if anyone has any then feel free to send them my way! I’ve got some old favourites in here and some fairly new additions that I’ve been loving recently. It’s also a mixture of both high street (drug store) products and some more expensive bits, they’re just what I’ve been using on the regular at the moment. If you’ve tried any of these products or love them as much as I do, leave me a comment and let me know.
Base: To start off, primers. These are my three that I’m reaching for a lot recently on rotation. I’ve been using the Witch Skin Clearing Primer when I’ve had a breakout, which has been the past week or so probably due to a load of uni related stress! It feels really calming and doesn’t feel like it blocks my pores, which is of course what it’s supposed to do. I’ve also been using the No7 Beautifully Bare Skin Enhancer after I received in in my #BootsCamp summer ready box the other week. I posted about this here if you want to check out what else I got! It’s not technically a primer I suppose as it isn’t supposed to keep makeup on for longer but it gives a nice even base to work with. I’d reach for this and the Bourjois Happy Matte Primer if I’m having a good skin day and just feel like I need a tiny bit of evening out. The Bourjois primer is really really mattifying. I posted about this on it’s own, in a review a few weeks back so click here if you want to give that a read.
Next, foundation, naturally. I’m still loving the Vichy Dermablend foundation, especially if I’ve had a break out as it’s got such good coverage and it’s non pore blocking. I don’t use this all over my face as it’d be too thick for that for a normal day but a little goes a long way so I’ll use this and some concealer and potentially a bit of BB cream to give my face the once over. I’ve also been really liking this Nip & Fab CC Eye Fix, similar to the Touche Eclat, Lumi Magique, all of those, a simple highlighter which is great for underneath eyes and around my nose. To top it off, I’m loving this Benefit Pore-Fessional Agent Zero Shine Powder. I normally tap a bit onto the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder pan and then swish my brush around that because I’m not 100% keen on the Benefit packaging, I find it kind of tricky to use.
Highlight & Blush: I’ve been leaving the bronzer recently for some reason. I’ve just not been using it too much, I think I might need a new one to take my fancy so if anyone has any suggestions I’d love to hear them! Instead I’ve just been using the lovely MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul, it is definitely my favourite blusher at the moment, paired with a little highlighter. The Nars ‘The Multipe’ in Orgasm is it’s perfect partner. On days when I feel that I need a little golden highlight as opposed to the pinky rose gold of the Nars one I turn to Topshop Glow in Polished.
Eyes: Mascara-wise I’ve been loving the Clarins Truly Waterproof Mascara from their Colours of Brazil collection. I tend to cry a lot. Just because, I’m probably not even upset half the time but you know, sometimes you just need a cry! This is seriously waterproof. So waterproof that it’s quite hard to get off actually!
For high street mascara I really like the Collection Super Size Fat Lash Mascara, it gives perfect volume for everyday lashes. At £2.99 I really have absolutely zero complaints!
Lips: My absolute favourite Springtime lip products are as follows: Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Timanfaya, Clarins Lip Balm Crayon in Tender Coral and Seventeen Supreme Shine in All About the Sass! They go in that order on the swatches. They’re all gorgeous summer shades, one bright orange, one bright pink and a lovely muted coral. Perfect spring and summer lips.
