How To Eat Chocolate Every Day (& Still Fit In Your Clothes)

Treats, sweets and chocolate don’t have to be seasonal. You can definitely have them all year round (I mean every day) if you want them! Obviously, some people will just say “duh” and eat it anyway. This post probably isn’t for you. This post is for people that think that chocolate and cakes are ‘fattening’, bad for you and generally a once in a blue moon thing. Totally not the case. They’re obviously full of sugar and aren’t packed with vitamins but if they keep you sane in small quantities then they’re totally fine and I think, essential.

Staying hydrated is a huge thing for me. Fitness: The Importance Of Rest & Recovery

When it comes to training and fitness, as much as we’re all going crazy with the HIIT workouts, getting up at crazy o’clock and morphing ourselves into ‘fitness and wellness’ experts, we all need time to chill out and basically not be in the gym. Here are three things that I always do to recover from training.

The Trouble With Teeth

Teeth. They give us endless problems. I know this all too well as I’m right at the end of my Invisalign treatments which I’ll be writing about super soon! From pain to paranoia, they can be a real source of stress. A recent BUPA study revealed that bad teeth stop one in four people smiling in photos and I’m definitely part of this statistic. Do we care for the wrong reasons? Of course, you should care about your teeth, I do so much more since having my braces, I probably care a lot more now than I ever did. Proper dental hygiene is essential for keeping them healthy.

Results With Lucy Blogger Event

So, this is a funny post for me… I set up, managed and ran an awesome (if I do say so myself) blogger event at work for Results With Lucy last week but I also attended it as a local blogger! I thought, why not? I’ll be there anyway and I preferred to get involved with the girls and planned the event to be one that I would enjoy if I was invited to it so I obviously wanted to do it too! It was great to get involved and see blogger events from both sides, the organising, and the attending.

My Favourite 20 Minute HIIT Workout

Here’s another little workout post for you guys. I love a good HIIT workout and I’ve formulated this little one together from a few exercises that I really enjoy. I’m wearing the Davina F&F Geo Print Medium Impact Sports Bra from Tesco’s clothing range and I love it. Are you ready to sweat? Set a timer for one-minute intervals for 20 minutes – I just downloaded any old interval timer apps from the App Store, they all work pretty much the same. This workout is four different exercises and then you can top it off with a minute plank for a finisher!

Sundried Ethical Sportswear

Today’s post is a little different, I’ve got a new gym wear discovery to tell you about! Sundried an ethical company founded by Daniel Puddick, a personal trainer and triathlete who wanted to create a brand that his children will be proud to be associated with in the future. Sundried produce their ethical activewear responsibly in partnership with The Low Carbon Innovation Fund to keep their carbon footprint minimal. The materials are sourced in Europe and handmade in Portugal. Sundried has been developing a sustainable technology suitable for activewear by utilising coffee’s natural ability to block odour, how cool is that? TheFridayGirl-56 They also give something back by providing a charitable donation code with each Sundried item to charity Water for Kids, which is a great cause. Every item in their collection is coded with a unique pledge to charity Water for Kids, who provide clean water sources for those in need.

“I put together a team at the top of their game, with excellent experience in premium activewear. I challenged them to deliver a stylish and superbly functional collection, which was ethical through and through.

Our first collection, I’m proud to say, delivers. We’ve used materials and production processes that are kind to the environment, and our clothing is made in Portugal by experienced and fairly treated specialists.”

The Importance Of Being Confident In Your Gym Wear

This post is all about gym wear, but, it’s a little different. I hope it doesn’t come off as a rant but I just want to stick up for all the girls in the gym that I feel are similar to me and occasionally get judged for no reason.

I was listening to a podcast the other day, one that I normally love where they chat about funny stuff, day to day trials and tribulations, first world problems etc and it’s usually really funny. But, this time they were talking about gym wear and what they think of people that take pride in what they wear to workout in. Basically, they were saying if you’re wearing nice gym kit and not an old baggy t-shirt and holey leggings you don’t know what you’re doing and you’re essentially vain. I disagree with this completely. I don’t know about you, but just because I like to look my best in the gym by wearing pieces that I think are stylish from Nike, Sweaty Betty, Elle Sport and other stylish gym-wear brands.

Super Quick Butt-Boosting Leg Workout

“I bet you’re in the gym for like 2 hours at a time aren’t you?” someone said to me the other day. I felt almost as if they were judging me and saying I’m boring just because I like fitness. It’s difficult to judge what people think about you when they say things like that but I definitely think we shouldn’t be thought of as boring if we do like to spend time in the gym. The point is that I only spend an hour in the gym if I’m doing a yoga class. My other sessions are between 25-40 minutes and that’s enough time to get a great workout in, so I don’t even spend that much time in there. It’s quite frustrating, don’t you think?
