I don’t often chat hair on my blog. Fashion; yeah, beauty; definitely and lifestyle occasionally. I can probably count the amount of haircare posts I’ve done on one hand, I don’t know why, it’s just not normally my thang. But, I thought, seeing as I’m finally happy with my hair and what I have done to it, I’d share a few products that I rely on to keep my tresses in tip top condition.
I’ve battled with my hair for most of my life, I never really liked it until probably about a year ago when I’d finally grown out my awkward in-between hair stage of the Frankie from The Saturdays style, which I loved but it was too much for me to deal with and I wouldn’t suit it now! I’ve settled on a long bob with a fringe and to some of you that might sound ridiculously boring but to me, it’s my happy place. I don’t suit really long hair and when it gets past a certain length it goes a bit scraggly and unmanageable. I need a fringe to frame my face also as otherwise I feel like my face doesn’t look right! Basically, I’ve gone back to the hair that I had when I was 3-8 years old. If it’s not broken, why fix it? My mama knew what was what way back in the 90s.
I’m really happy that I’ve finally found a style that I love and that I know suits me, it really helps with getting ready in the morning and for nights out, there’s no longer any battling with different styles and trying new things, I know that I can straighten my fringe and I’m good to go!
So, on to the products that I use almost daily to style and look after my hair.
Superdrug Detangling Spray
I occasionally have super knotty hair, either when I’ve come out of the shower or if it’s been up in a bun so this little baby, actually made for kids, is the best thing to help me brush out the tangles. It has conditioners in it so is kind of like a leave in conditioner and smells like pears! I haven’t invested in a Tangle Teezer yet, apparently they’re ridiculously good, so there’s one in my ASOS saved items just waiting for a discount code to come along! You can pick it up here for as cheap as chippies.
Batiste Dry Shampoo for Brunettes
We all know that I’m obsessed with dry shampoo and it’s benefits. It simply makes my life a million times easier on non hair wash days. If you haven’t tried it, (where have you been?!) you need to. Gross, a little bit greasy, second or third day hair is gone in a few sprays and there’s so many different variations on the market now you’re bound to find one that you love. I really like Batiste as a brand and I’ve only ever had a bad experience with one of their products, the XXL Volume Dry Shampoo just wasn’t for me, but as I’ve been using them for years I just went back to the standard version and we were bestest friends again.
L’Oreal Volume Texturising Spray
I gave this lovely little product it’s own post and review which you can read here if you’re for to it! I got my can from Boots, they’ve got a few offers on at the moment, as usual, so check it out. Basically, it just gives my hair a little bit of life if it’s feeling too fluffy after a wash, perfect for using after dry shampoo as well to give some more texture.
Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day Conditioner
I’ve got into the habit of using mis matched shampoo and conditioners and this is my current shower fave for my hair. Of course, being Soap & Glory, it smells amazing and has that classic S&G smell mixed with a little bit of fruity goodness. You can of course pick it up in Boots and it’s priced at £5.50 but I think they have a 3 for 2 on S&G at the moment!
I hope you liked this post, let me know what you think!
