Staying sharp and stylish takes a lot of effort. Putting together the right outfit every day requires thought to step out looking great, no matter where you’re going. But if you want to look good, sometimes you have to forget about clothes and accessories and go back to basics. Caring for your body is essential if you want to look and feel good every day. From looking after your skin to working out, I believe it’s important to stay healthy and not just to care about fashion. So here are my top tips for living healthier to improve your appearance.
Get a Grooming Routine
People like to say that it’s only just becoming acceptable for men to take pride in their appearance, but that’s really not true. From eighteenth century aristocracy to 1960s mods, men have always cared about how the dress and look. Things have changed though, so more men own a moisturiser and maybe do a bit of manscaping. Spending a bit of time on your appearance is not only normal now, but expected too. But if you don’t want to spend hours grooming, you should get a quick routine going. Looking after your skin should be a top priority, especially after shaving. Or if you have a beard (or any facial hair) make sure you take care of it.
Stop Smoking
If you smoke, you might not see any reason to give up. But if what it’s doing to your insides isn’t enough, you could think about what it’s doing to your outer appearance. Smoking might have looked good in 1950s Hollywood, but perceptions are changing. As well as being an unpleasant smell, which can get into your clothes and hair, it can affect your appearance too. Smoking can give you bad skin, poor circulation and unhealthy teeth and hair. Consider switching out your twenty a day for an electronic cigarette. It gives off an odourless vapour, instead of smoke, and could help you quit using nicotine for good.
Watch Your Diet
Eating a lot of junk food and not putting on weight won’t last forever and you could soon find that your metabolism has slowed down. And apart from piling on the pounds, eating poorly could have other effects on your health and appearance too. If you’re not getting the right nutrients, you could have poor skin and hair and you could find you don’t have enough energy to get through the day.
