This looks too good to be sugar-free? WRONG. It totally is and I’m going to tell you how to make it in all its chocolatey glory.
I’m a complete and utter cereal addict, I love the stuff. I could eat box after box of Coco Pops, Ricicles, you name it, I love it. I’m also a big granola lover but since discovering quite how much sugar was in the cereal I love, I decided to make my own sugar-free version. I’m trying to cut refined sugar out of my day to day diet and keep it for treats as I find my skin really suffers if I eat too much of it. If you suffer from adult acne, hidden sugar just might be the cause as it was for me.
So, to make this bowl of chocolatey delicious-ness, you will need the following ingredients. This recipe will make 13 servings of 50g each which has 308 calories, 15.9g of fat (all them nuts!), 30.8g of carbs and 8.9g of protein per bowl. Of course, you can mix and match the ingredients in this granola with nuts that you prefer and the amounts are all flexible too!
Ingredients
- 300g of everyday porridge oats
- 90g of Omega Sprinkle
- 60g of Walnuts (blitzed up or chopped up into smaller pieces)
- 50g Organic Cacao Powder
- 25g Organic Cacao Nibs
- 40g Chia Seeds
- 20g Flaked Almonds
- 50g Coconut Oil
- 70g Raw Manuka Honey
Melt down your coconut oil and honey over a low heat until it’s pourable. Mix all your dry ingredients in a bowl and make sure all of your cacao powder is covering everything, you might have to give it all a mix for a few minutes. Combine the wet and the dry, spread your mixture over a couple of baking trays lined with baking paper and pop into a pre-heated oven at 110 degrees C. Take out after about 15 minutes and give it a shake about and pop it back in for 15-20 minutes depending how crunchy you like your granola. You’re done!
