Coco Vail is Barcelona’s first beer hall and is a seriously great place to spend a few afternoon hours during a Barcelona city break. We loved it so much here that we actually went back twice during a 4 day break, the first time for lunch and then the second time just for a drink but both times we were so glad we went.
Located just off the Passeig de Gracia (basically as you’re walking up from La Ramblas, turn right when you hit Burberry and it’s about 100 metres down the street!), Coco Vail has a huge range of beers from all over Spain and beyond as well as a pretty great menu and an awesome lunch deal.
I’d definitely recommend trying the Coco Vail burger, so good they named it after the place! Any burger with a fried egg is a true burger in my opinion. Luke had that pile of meaty gorgeous-ness and I actually went for the California veggie burger as I’d had a burger the night before too (I know, I’m addicted!). This veggie burger was great but I’m used to a bean-based veggie patty and this was actual carrots and peas which took a minute to get used to. It was delicious though, topped with guacamole and fresh salad and served with some super yummy chips.
I’d definitely recommend venturing into the side streets of Barcelona to find the best food, I’ve got loads of recommendations coming up for you soon but I had to do a post for Coco Vail on their own because it was one of my favourite finds. The staff were so friendly and took the time to chat to us and the setting inside it really cool with long benches and high ceilings. Check it out if you’re in Barca and you love your beer and burgers.
