3 Tips For Getting & Staying Organised

New year, new you, right? If one of your goals for this year is to be more organised them I’ve got a few tips for you. These are based on skincare and beauty because it’s one of the things that I hate to be disorganised because it’s so hard to find the eyeliner or moisturise sample you want in a massive dark makeup bag, isn’t it? Obviously, these tips can transfer to whatever you want to organise! For me, it’s my kitchen cupboards next. If someone could buy me a spice rack, I’d love you forever.

1. Have A Sort Out

First off, do you really need everything? Separate whatever you’re sorting out into definite keeps, not sure and definite throw out/donate/sell piles. Obviously, with beauty and skincare you can’t sell on products that you’ve swatched or used but if you give them a clean or they’ve only been used once, I’m sure they can find a home with a friend or family! Also, remember that makeup and skincare have use-by dates. It’s usually 6 months for mascara, super quick but it’s something that you’re putting near your eyes, get rid of it if it’s past it’s use-by! Once you’re ready with your definite keeps pile, get yourself some super storage.

2. Separate The Every Day

I have a makeup bag in my handbag with touch-up necessities like powder, concealer, and an eyebrow pencil amongst other items! Then, I have my everyday makeup in a Muji acrylic drawer that’s left out. This means that I don’t have to rummage noisily in the morning trying to find my mascara. This is the same with your clothes or cereal in your kitchen. If you use it everyday, pop everything together that’s easy to reach.

3. Make It A Habit

A short but to the point section! Pop things back where you got them from and maybe have a switcheroo or a tidy up of your box or basket every week when you’re having your usual clean. This will make organisation super easy and hopefully things won’t get too messy again!
