Brunch is my favourite food group and yep, I’ll accept being basic af with that admission but, what you gonna do? This gal likes eggs, and anything on toast. Last week I popped to Cartwheel in Nottingham with my hun Robyn for a catch up. She took the photos that I obviously couldn’t take myself – thanks babe!
I hadn’t actually eaten here before, I’d only been for coffee and I was really impressed. My bacon sandwich was incredible. Possibly because I haven’t eaten bacon in weeks because I’m trying to cut down on meat a little bit oh wow it was so crispy and that rosemary focaccia needs a blog post all of it’s own. I also had a very tasty orange juice and Robs went for the classic avo and poached eggs on sourdough which looked awesome.
But anyway, this post isn’t about brunch, it’s about my summer style and how it’s basically just a short sleeved and cropped version of my winter style. I’m still all about stripes, denim, khaki and classics. As much as I love a trend-led statement piece from time to time I always go back to the old school style classics like neutrals and ‘capsule wardrobe’ staples. Recently I’ve been living in my new Birkenstock Arizona sandals from Jake Shoes. I’ve been after some Birkenstocks for years and I’m so glad that I’ve finally got my hands on some, they are insanely comfortable and go with absolutely every outfit. I went for the metallic silver for something a little bit different. I also wanted to avoid white and black because I wear a lot of both of these colours and felt that my outfits might feel a bit colour-blocky with monochrome sandals.
What’s your favourite summer outfit? Mine will almost always be a denim skirt or shorts paired with easy sandals and a striped or band tee. Sorted. The crux of this post? 10/10 would recommend Cartwheel’s bacon sandwich and Birkenstock Arizonas for comfort and looking cute all summer.
Thanks so much to Jake Shoes for sending me these bad boys. Definitely check out their site for loads of brands like Vans, UGG, Converse, Dr Martens and Superga!
