My winter glow kit

Winter is killing my skin this year! I swear it’s not normally this bad but I really feel like I’ve had to ramp up the skincare this chilly season. I wanted to share some of the gems I’ve added into my skincare routine to help keep the glow and some make-up additions that are helping to keep me flawless.

Super skincare

Great skin starts with skincare and I’ve always loved removing my make up and trying new skincare products. Recently I’ve come to the end of a few products at once, my day cream and my morning eye treatment. I’ve been using the Yes to Tomatoes moisturiser which I absolutely love and The Ordinary Caffeine for under my eyes and I’ve liked that product too. With eye treatments, I feel like it’s more preventative than actually visibly doing something to my skin so I like to use one even though I can’t always notice a huge difference in my skin.

I popped into Superdrug because I wanted to try their Vitamin E Hydrating Mist and Vitamin E Leave On Mask because I felt like my skin was still really dry thanks to all the heating and bitter winter wind. I spotted the Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream and Naturally Radiant Brightening Day Cream on a buy one get one free offer and thought they’d be perfect to replace the products that I’ve used up. With Superdrug in-store offers, student discount and £1 from my Beautycard this haul of 4 products was just over £8! A serious bargain. So far the products are perfectly good for budget skincare and I’ll report back when I’ve used them for a month or so. The eye and day cream have an energising complex and infused with Kiwi Fruit and Mulberry extracts to help revive skin’s radiance & even out skin tone. Have you used this Superdrug range? I actually overheard a girl in the shop telling her friend how good the Vitamin E range was so I’m looking forward to some good results!

A product that I would 100% repurchase is the Boots own brand Botanics Organic Facial Oil 100% Organic which is amazing value for a facial oil and is really hydrating. I found that my skin was just drinking it up so I bought the leave on mask to alternate with this and up the moisture even more. It’s not greasy and has organic Rosehip extract. It’s also less than a tenner so it’s a perfect treat to grab with your Advantage Card points.

Make-up must haves

Another couple of things I was running low on was mattifying powder and a concealer that would really pack some coverage punch so I spotted these two Bourjois on buy one get one half price in Boots earlier in the month and I’m really impressed with them both. I’ve had some higher end products in terms of powder and concealer recently, a Bobbi Brown concealer and a Becca loose powder but I rate the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer with really great coverage and the Bourjois Air Mat Compact Powder simply does what it says on the tin. Both of these for around £12 was perfect.

The next two products are PR gifts and I wasn’t obliged to speak about them but I’ve actually really enjoyed using them. First up, the Clarins Glow 2 Go Stick in Shade 2* is a super travel-friendly highlighter and blush stick creation which is meant to be highly pigmented and long wearing. The Shade 2 is definitely not a highlighter on my skin tone it’s more of a contour colour on me but the blush is really lush. I love a cream/liquid blush in the winter because it just adds a bit more dew to the skin and this stick is super nifty. The other product is the strawberry tree fruit extract infused Clarins Instant Poreless Pore-Blurring Mattifying Primer* which is great for if I really want my foundation to last all day. My skin yo-yos between being oily AF and dry depending on the time of the month so this, paired with the Bourjois powder over my foundation have been great when my skin’s been feeling oily.
