Another year, another almost 365 days of wearing makeup, here are my top products of 2019.
Primer
I’ve been using erborian primers all year and they really are awesome. I featured them in this brand discovery blog post a little while ago but I’m still working my way through the Bamboo Glow* and finished up erborian Matte Creme* a few months ago which was so good for mattifying and worked really well with my favourite foundation. I don’t have a favourite primer other than these, I find they really do what they say they will so they’re super reliable!
Foundation
I love Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation SPF 10 and recently got a brand new shiny bottle for Christmas but in the gap where I finished my last bottle and thought I’d wait for Santa to bring me some more I tried Primark’s PS My Perfect Colour Double Coverage Matte Foundation SPF 15 which is only £5 and is an awesome dupe. I won’t lie, as soon as I got my Estee Lauder back in my life I realised how gorgeous and silky and easy to blend it is but honestly, the Primark dupe is perfectly good for an everyday base and I’ll keep my Estee Lauder for special occasions and if I really need my makeup to last past a working day.

Bronzer
The Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base entered my life this year on a cheeky Boots 15% off deal and it is amazing. I love to apply this with the Real Techniques Powder Brush and it gives a really seamless glow all over. I’ve also loved the Laura Geller bronzer bit I can’t find this anywhere online – I received it in a beauty box and it’s really lovely.
Mascara
My current go-to is the Beauty Pie Flash False Lash Mascara layered over the doucce Maxlash Volumizer Mascara. I love to have my lashes lifted a couple of times a year but I also use the Charlotte Tilbury eyelash curlers when I don’t have my lashes lifted with LVL. If you fancy trying Beauty Pie, you can get your first month’s subscription free with my link above and I’ll get some credit added to my account too.
Blush
Pink is the way I go with my blush and for good skin days when I’m not too oily I like Nars The Multiple in Orgasm but for serious staying power I love the Benefit Gogo Tint which also lasts literally years. I’d recommend buying the mini version if you fancy trying it because you need such a tiny amount for cheeks I doubt I’ll finish it before it goes past it’s best date.

Brows
I’ve been having my brow lamination with Yas at Studio Y Beauty local to me but then I keep the fluffy shape with Benefit 24-Hour Invisible Shaping Brow Setter Gel and Anastasia Beverley Hills Dipbrow Pomade when they’re in need of a top up!
Brushes & Tools
Love a good beauty blender but I’ve also loved the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Complexion Brush* for foundation, contour and blush – I go between a few different application techniques but this is an amazing all rounder brush!

Eyeshadow & liner
I’ve had an amazing No7 palette with loads of warm toned shadows in from the summer time which is no longer in stock but as well as this the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in Marie Antionette* is a perfect everyday shade that’s also great to build up for a night out. For liner, I’ve been through two MAC Technakohl Eyeliner in Broque this year and it’s beautiful but lasts literally 3 months which isn’t long enough for me for the price. I’ve just started using Beauty Pie eyeliner which is lovely so far!
Lips
I asked for Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Pillow Talk Lipstick and Lip Cheat liner for Christmas after having it applied at CT counters over the years as I want to wear it when we get married and it’s so beautiful. It really is the perfect nude.
For easy, everyday lips I like the new Clarins Lip Milky Mousse* in 02 for a bit of colour but the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector* will forever be my favourite lip gloss as they look gorgeous but are actually moisturising and they last forever! I also love the 3INA Chubby Lipstick in 109* for a great vegan, cruelty free and budget lipstick that’s super easy and quick to apply.
This is pretty much my everyday makeup as well as my special occasion stuff. Of course I love a good red or pink lipstick too but these are my everyday, versatile and staple makeup favourites for 2019! Do we share any favourites? Let me know your favourites in the comments!
