Pretty Polly are a brand that are iconic for women’s leg wear and hosiery. Today I’m bringing you a little post all about their latest venture into nightwear and lingerie. It’s very picture heavy because I think the pictures say so much more than me rambling on. You can see the quality and the prettiness of them without me telling you!
Summer is supposedly here and when the sun comes out I always find myself reaching for smaller bags than my usual Autumn Winter suitcases. I have a few favourites and they’re all quite teeny and I can just about fit my purse, phone and powder in there, but that’s all you really need for summer days isn’t it?
We all love a party, but the sore feet at the end of the night are the worst part, am I right? You feel like you could dance the night away the second you get out and by 20 minutes into your first cocktail you feel the familiar burning and aching sensation in your tootsies. This sucks. So I’ve brought you a few snazzy pairs of flats that you can dance the night away in without getting sore feet! I might not convert the heel-loving gals out of you but I’ll definitely be rocking a pair of flats next time I go out, they’re so much more conformable! I especially love the leopard print slippers.
So this is my Day 2 of Bristol Fashion Week outfit post! I hope you like it. All photography by Luke Svarc. I wore:
Today I’m featuring this stunning blue sweatshirt from Louche at John Lewis. Louche is a new brand that’s being stocked in John Lewis and they’ve got some really lovely pieces, some vintage style dresses and shirts that are really beautiful. The colour really drew me to this piece, it’s stunning and the fact that I thought it would be really versatile. In this post I’ve styled it on a casual Sunday in town but I think I’d definitely smarten it up and wear it with some trousers and heels too. I think it’d also look fab with a white shirt underneath. It also comes in white which would look fab on really tanned skin but it would wash me out! The blue trend is really in, check out this article from Vogue for a bit more inspiration.
When I say to you, Paul’s Boutique, there’s probably a few images that come to mind. For me it’s definitely the bag I had about 6 years ago, black and covered in crazy neon patches. I know, I haven’t always been a fashion blogger, k?
Well, that image is well and truly a thing of the past as they’ve had an amazing rebrand into a much more stylish and on trend brand. They kindly let me review one of their really popular bags, the Fleur Reversible Clutch Bag. This one is bright pink on the outside and on the inside it’s a lovely dark purple, kind of an aubergine colour which is perfect for the autumn/winter seasons. The pink, on the other hand is fab all year round and is amazing for adding a pop of colour into any outfit. Here, I’ve styled it with more colour as I think the bright blue and the bright pink look really good next to each other. This is a really casual look but I think this bag is so versatile that it can be a great day clutch (it’s big enough too!) and a really good night out bag too. It comes with a little hand strap too so dancing without worrying about your handbag is easy as pie.
As you guys may or may not know I’m Fashion & Beauty for Uni2Know mag, a student magazine based in Nottingham. Recently we had a photo shoot to do for the newest issue and I was in desperate need of some models! It’s difficult to find male models around uni because people aren’t normally keen to offer themselves up for it! My solution came from having Sunday lunch with my Uncle & Auntie, Alex & Alan who happen to be the directors of Fresh Logistics, a ‘temperature controlled courier and storage company’ which is based just down the road from us in Long Eaton. Fresh logistics work mainly for the food and pharmaceutical sectors and provide specialist bespoke services to the frozen, chilled or ambient market. They’ve also just won an award last week for Operations SME at the SHD awards which is wicked! They did me a huge favour by asking a few of their lads that work for them to help us out! Here are a few of the shots from the day, shot by Neil Kates of Keeping It Neil Photography.
Seriously, what would we do without ASOS in our lives now? They truly are life saving aren’t they? I’ve really been loving the 60s look at the moment and I’ve been after the perfect pair of loafers. I’ve been on a mission but it’s been a bit of a porridge/Goldilocks hunt for them. All the one’s I’ve been looking at in the shops have either looked too cheap, been too shiny or just haven’t fitted. There’s also the nightmare of to tassel or not to tassel! But I finally found a lovely little pair I like from ASOS. What do you think?
Just thought I’d share a little outfit I wore recently. This is a skirt I’ve had for probably about 5 years now, I dug it out the other week when I went home for Christmas and it’s a little big (cough 2 sizes) but I can tighten it up and you wouldn’t know! It’s an old Topshop number and obviously, being check/tartan it’s bang on trend now but the good thing with it being old is that I probably won’t see anyone else wearing it! What do you think?
