Over the Bank Holiday weekend we tackled the next room of our house, decorating wise, our bedroom. Here are a few before photos, showing our room, warts and all with the grubby green colour. I think green is definitely now my least favourite colour after sleeping in this monstrosity for a few months. Right now, I never want to see another tin of paint again but there’s still more to do until we’re perfect!
When you say ‘Stoli’ to me, I automatically think of Ab Fab and Patsy’s classic Stoli & Bolly combination. Who doesn’t? But the old classic is getting a modern 2014 re-vamp. Stoli went on a tour in a 1950s van around London with their new Stole Lemonade creation, offering it up to the lovely local public! Unfortunately, I was unable to go but I really wanted to try this glorified vodka lemonade so they kindly sent me a bottle and I wanted to share the recipe with you guys! It’s a really refreshing summer drink and it’s great because you can alter the sweetness, lemony-ness and vodka measure in your own pitcher unlike the giant watery Wetherspoon’s pitchers that sometimes grace the table. Grab yourself a pretty mason jar and some straws and settle down for an evening in the sun. Multiply the recipe by 4 to share the pitcher with friends.
Dry shampoo, baby wipes, a little bit of sea-salt spray, loads of anti-bacterial stuff and a little bit of Avene Eau Thermale is the perfect festival survival kit. Forget the tent, I just need my Toni & Guy Sea-Salt Spray! Sporks have been my favourite piece of cutlery ever since I was in the cadets and doing Duke of Edinburgh, they’re an ingenious bit of kit that house a spoon, fork and a serrated edge for choppin’ and cuttin’!
After 3 days of DIY and a whole load of paint we’ve finally finished decorating our guest room! It looks cosmetically lovely now, if you don’t look at the floor or into the corners too closely. I live in a really old house and it was pretty run down when we took it on so this is as good as we can get it as we also rent! But, I think it looks quite lovely now and I’d be happy to have people to stay whereas before I wouldn’t have even slept in there myself by choice!
This week on Grazia’s #WhatToDoThisWeek feature I’ve recommended the super cool Sobar in Nottingham. It’s a completely 0% alcohol establishment and is run 100% not for profit. All of their profits go to drink and drug related charities around Nottingham and I think that pretty sweet! They also so amazing milkshakes so it’s become a weekend stop-off for Luke and I when we’re in town! You can check out the Grazia post and what all the other regional bloggers have been recommending here.
Thinking about Christmas in July is a bit mind boggling, but when Paperchase invite you to see some of their lovely goodies, you can only say yes! Remember if you’re a student you can grab 10% off all full priced goodies with Paperchase & UNiDAYS.
Just a little bit of exciting news on the blog today. I now have a weekly blogger feature on Grazia sharing my knowledge of my city and what to do for the week & the weekend coming up! This week I featured Suede Bar, an awesome Pizza place just off the Lace Market in Nottingham. You can check them out here and you can check out the post and see what the other bloggers are suggesting from their cities here!
As you might have heard if you follow me on Twitter, I’ve just found out that I’ve passed my degree from university with a 2:1 and I’m starting my new job on Monday and nothing gets me more excited than being able to whip out some fresh stationary and making a little list of anything!
June 15th is Father’s Day just in case you’ve forgotten, it’s tomorrow! I’ve put together a last minute gift guide for you showcasing a few great fragrances that you can pick up for your dad.
I noticed the other day that Boots have some great fragrance offers on so I’ve made this post about fragrance and aftershave. This Davidoff one is only £19.99 down from about £40 I think so it’s half price and smells lovely, it’s quite a sophisticated scent, so perfect so smart daddies. They also have a fab offer on Lacoste Red, 75ml for £24.99, which is a really good deal too.
Nigel’s Eco Store is an amazing little homeware and lifestyle shop online where you can pick up anything and everything related to your home but they all have an eco friendly beginning or a twist! I just thought I’d share with you all some bits I recently picked up from there for the house. I love reading haul posts so here’s my most recent one.
