We all know how much sustainability, vegan and cruelty free beauty has blown up over the past few years and for obviously great reasons. It’s fantastic that we can easily find products that haven’t been anywhere near a poor little bunny but it’s still shocking how many of our ‘favourite’ brands still test on animals. Thankfully there are brands and products that we can make a beeline for and know that we’re getting cruelty free products. Here are five of my favourite skincare products that are in my routine at the moment that are all awesome products in themselves but also happen to be budget-friendly, all £10 and under and all cruelty free.

First up, a cleanser. The Primark x Alex Steinherr Pore Balance Low-pH Sulphate Free Cleanser including Salicylic acid is part of a 20 piece collection by the Uber-experiences beauty editor who I followed religiously when she was at Glamour, my fave ever magazine. Her awesome collection that you can pick up in your regular Primark shop are all priced under £5 and this cleanser itself is only £4. This is a really simple cleanser which has no scent or perfume included so it tastes a bit funny if you get it in your mouth but obviously that’s not really advised! I use this to cleanse twice after removing my makeup with micellar water and I feel super squeaky clean afterwards.

Another cleanser on this list is the Gallinee Cleansing Bar available from Showcase Beauty, a site that literally only sells vegan and cruelty free skincare and beauty products. This is £10, the most expensive from this little selection but I think £10 isn’t too bad to shell out for a great quality and long lasting product. It’s essentially like a bar of soap but obviously it’s completely soap-free and is super gentle. It ‘soothes and nourishes skin with a patented complex of prebiotics and lactic acid’. Another totally simple and effective cleanser. The only thing with a bar cleanser that I’m not used to yet is the lack of bubbles and lather, they’re quite subtle in this department. Another plus with this product is that there’s absolutely zero plastic packaging that comes with it, just a little recyclable cardboard box.

A range that I absolutely love for day to day skincare is the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening range, I have the Day Cream and Eye Cream and use them both daily. They sink in really well and have SPF15 which is essential for looking after your skin. They both have a ‘naturally revitalising blend of ingredients and infused with Mulberry and Kiwi extracts to help brighten and smooth’. Both are £5.99 and are usually on some sort of offer, at the moment of writing this they’re buy one get one free which is amazing for the amount of product you get because they really last ages.

Finally, the Superdrug Vitamin E Leave On Mask is only £2.99 and is also on a buy one get one half price offer at the moment – Superdrug are the queens of an offer and they accept student discount too if you’re lucky enough to be that young! The Vitamin E Leave-On Moisture Mask is a ‘serum like gel with Wheat Germ, Glycine Soja and Jojoba Oils designed to replenish and rehydrate your skin in just 10 minutes, leaving it feeling soft and supple’. I use this instead of a night cream sometimes if I’m feeling dry from aircon or too much sunshine and I love it. This is such a crazy price too, under £3, you can’t go wrong.
