3 killer Halloween beauty looks

Looking for some Halloween inspo? Always. Here are some of this year’s most popular looks and how you can achieve them, even if you’re not a trained makeup artist (because who is?).

1. Pop art

Take your inspiration from pop artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein to create this not-so-scary Halloween look. The great thing about this look is that you can use products that you probably already own, and even if you don’t, they won’t be too expensive to buy. You’ll need

  • White eyeliner pencil
  • Blue eyeshadow
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Black liquid eyeliner
  • Red lipstick
  1. Start by applying the blue eyeshadow over your eyelids then line your eyes with the eyeliner.
  2. Apply the bright red lipstick.
  3. Furrow your brow and trace the shape with black eyeshadow before filling in the shape of the rest of your brows with the same colour.
  4. Draw evenly spaced dots with white eyeliner pencil on your whole face.
  5. Use the black liquid eyeliner to trace over various parts of your face. Emphasis the hairline, cheekbones, jawline and nose.

2. Zombie bride

The zombie bride is a classic Halloween look and one that you can update every year to fit in with the latest styles and make up collections. For this one you’ll need to get your hands on:

  • White face makeup
  • Charcoal grey eyeshadow
  • Plum coloured eyeshadow
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Dark brown eyeshadow
  • Red lipstick
  • Fake blood (optional)
  1. Apply white face makeup to your whole face, minus the eye area.
  2. Lightly contour your cheekbones and the sides of your forehead with charcoal grey eyeshadow before creating the sunken eye look with the dark brown eyeshadow.
  3. Take the plum coloured eyeshadow and apply on your eyes from the corner down. Make sure you blend it into the undereye too for a tired look. The same shadow should be applied to the upper inner crease in a C movement.
  4. Mix the black and brown eyeshadow and apply it under the lash line, in the inner corner, and under the eye. Add depth by applying it under your brows.
  5. Fully contour your cheeks and forehead with the charcoal grey shadow.
  6. Cover lips with more white face paint before applying a red lipstick to the inside of your lips. You might want to add some fake blood to your lips for a more gruesome look.

3. Creepy porcelain doll

If you can’t decide whether to go cute or creepy this year, why not combine both to create this look. You can really style this one any way that you want but to create the basis you’ll need:

  • White face paint
  • Fake eyelashes
  • Black eye pencil
  • Pink powder blush
  • Liquid eyeliner
  • Lip pencil
  • Lipstick
  1. Apply the white face paint to your whole face.
  2. Use the black eye pencil to outline your eyes.
  3. Make your eyebrows appear darker with black eye pencil.
  4. Apply a noticeable amount of pink blusher to your cheeks.
  5. Use the liquid eyeliner to create the cracked porcelain face effect. Start at the top of your face and draw jagged lines, creating shadows with a blending brush.
  6. Make your lips appear smaller by shaping them with a lip pencil before filling them in with lipstick.
