5 ways to tackle dark circles

One of the most common beauty problems many of us face is the issue of dark circles around the eyes. They can make you look super tired or even unwell, which is why most of us would really rather get rid of them once and for all if possible.

If you have from circles and you want to do something about it, here are a few things that could help!

Get more sleep

It’s often easier said than done, but getting enough sleep each night is really important if you want to minimise dark circles. Although a lack of sleep doesn’t actually cause the circles to form, it can leave you looking paler and puffier the next morning, which means, if you do have dark circles, they will look worse. So, an early night could be just what your beauty routine needs.

Take better care of your health and wellbeing

Often, dark circles can be caused, or contributed to, by poor health. Iron deficiency is one of the biggest potential health factors in the formation of dark circles, but a lack of good nutrition, in general, will not help, nor will smoking or being overweight, so anything you can do to improve your general health and wellbeing will really help to improve your dark circles and help your eyes to sparkle, too.

Try mineral skin treatments

Some mineral skin treatments can help to reduce the signs of dark circles, and fine lines too, by feeding your skin lots of the good stuff it needs to repair and regenerate. Ideally, you should look for a mineral skin treatment that’s formulated specifically for the eyes, and which includes SPF protection as that will help with your dark circles too.

Wear sunscreen

As I mentioned above, SPF protection can really help to reduce the appearance of dark circles, as well as generally protecting your health. When your skin is fully protected from the rays of the sun, it is less likely to succumb to hyperpigmentation AND signs of premature ageing, which is why it’s generally a good idea to wear sunscreen every day whether you have dark circles to deal with or not, not to mention the cancer-protective benefits!

Apply ice

If you wake up with puffy dark circles under your eyes, before you start your beauty routine, put an ice pack on the affected areas for as long as you can stand it. This will help to reduce swelling, and in most cases, it will also lighten your dark circles, so your makeup won’t have quite so difficult a job to do in terms of covering the area.

Bye-bye dark circles!
