Just like the boyfriend jeans, pool slides were one trend that I wasn’t 100% sure about. I still feel that loads of them look quite ugly and I really don’t get the Nike & Adidas rubber ones worn by women, they just don’t look good to me, but that’s my opinion! Then again, whilst on the lookout for some new summer sandals, I came across these little babies from Next, for £25, real leather, metallic and a more feminine version of the pool slides that every fashion blogger on the scene has been sporting! I really like these as they’re leather, not black and rubbery and they have a strap at the back to help keep them on! I’m rubbish at backless sandals, unless they’re flip-flops because my feet just won’t seem to grip onto them!
The weekend brought us sunshine and amazing music as Luke & I ventured over to Wollaton Park in Nottingham for a home-grown festival called No Tomorrow. The weather fooled us in the morning and was pretending to be horrible and rainy but by the time we’d arrived the sun was out and it was amazing sunshine! We saw Sam Smith, Clean Bandit, Duke Dumont and loads of other great acts but two of our favourites were Jess Glynne and Indiana. They both also looked amazing, both of their outfits were wicked so I thought I’d do a little get the look post with them as my inspiration! Please excuse my grainy iPhone photos!
What’s in the big pink box?! Pretty Polly & Hello Kitty have released a new range of socks & tights perfect for the festival season with welly socks galore. Basically, I love Hello Kitty and when I went to Japan I stocked up on Hello Kitty everything so I was definitely excited when these socks popped through my door! Check the range out here.
Pretty Polly are a brand that are iconic for women’s leg wear and hosiery. Today I’m bringing you a little post all about their latest venture into nightwear and lingerie. It’s very picture heavy because I think the pictures say so much more than me rambling on. You can see the quality and the prettiness of them without me telling you!
Summer is supposedly here and when the sun comes out I always find myself reaching for smaller bags than my usual Autumn Winter suitcases. I have a few favourites and they’re all quite teeny and I can just about fit my purse, phone and powder in there, but that’s all you really need for summer days isn’t it?
We all love a party, but the sore feet at the end of the night are the worst part, am I right? You feel like you could dance the night away the second you get out and by 20 minutes into your first cocktail you feel the familiar burning and aching sensation in your tootsies. This sucks. So I’ve brought you a few snazzy pairs of flats that you can dance the night away in without getting sore feet! I might not convert the heel-loving gals out of you but I’ll definitely be rocking a pair of flats next time I go out, they’re so much more conformable! I especially love the leopard print slippers.
So this is my Day 2 of Bristol Fashion Week outfit post! I hope you like it. All photography by Luke Svarc. I wore:
Today I’m featuring this stunning blue sweatshirt from Louche at John Lewis. Louche is a new brand that’s being stocked in John Lewis and they’ve got some really lovely pieces, some vintage style dresses and shirts that are really beautiful. The colour really drew me to this piece, it’s stunning and the fact that I thought it would be really versatile. In this post I’ve styled it on a casual Sunday in town but I think I’d definitely smarten it up and wear it with some trousers and heels too. I think it’d also look fab with a white shirt underneath. It also comes in white which would look fab on really tanned skin but it would wash me out! The blue trend is really in, check out this article from Vogue for a bit more inspiration.
When I say to you, Paul’s Boutique, there’s probably a few images that come to mind. For me it’s definitely the bag I had about 6 years ago, black and covered in crazy neon patches. I know, I haven’t always been a fashion blogger, k?
Well, that image is well and truly a thing of the past as they’ve had an amazing rebrand into a much more stylish and on trend brand. They kindly let me review one of their really popular bags, the Fleur Reversible Clutch Bag. This one is bright pink on the outside and on the inside it’s a lovely dark purple, kind of an aubergine colour which is perfect for the autumn/winter seasons. The pink, on the other hand is fab all year round and is amazing for adding a pop of colour into any outfit. Here, I’ve styled it with more colour as I think the bright blue and the bright pink look really good next to each other. This is a really casual look but I think this bag is so versatile that it can be a great day clutch (it’s big enough too!) and a really good night out bag too. It comes with a little hand strap too so dancing without worrying about your handbag is easy as pie.
